âAre you willing to accept my offer, or will you let this opportunity pass because of your childishness? âhe asked.
I didnât know what to do; Mr. Funkele, a man I believe to be in his late sixties and our soon-to-be biggest investor. If I accept his proposal to sleep with him I will open an account worth 4billions for my bank.
As a bank marketer with Oilspring Bank, I was regarded as the best in my department, one reason being that I donât compromise my standards regardless of the situation. Aside from that, I just got engaged to Jackson, the love of my life; I couldnât do this to him. I havenât done it before. But on the other hand, this was an opportunity that I rarely come across; I wonder what my bank manager would say, adding to the fact that I havenât closed an account worth this amount for a long time.
Still, deep in thought, I was interrupted by a loud masculine voice
âYoung lady, you have overstayed your welcome and it seems your mind is already made up, I have another important business meeting to attend, I hope your manager will be pleased with your result â
I quickly stood from my seat and I smiled at him. âThank you, Sir,â I said before exiting his office, pondering on what to tell my boss.

Today, Jackson and I will be having dinner at his parentsâ house by 6 pm; although this wasnât my first time meeting with his parent, this particular one was making me nervous.
Today is going to be the day Jackson will tell his family about our engagement. I wasnât supposed to feel so awkward because I knew his family pressured him to get married. I quickly wave the uneasiness away.
We arrived at his parents' house after exchanging pleasantries, I helped his mom and younger sister set the table. Jackson sat in the sitting room with his dad, discussing business as usual.
We heard the doorbell ring, and after a few minutes, there were loud voices of men laughing in the sitting room.
âIt seems we have a visitor, â I said to Lillian -Jacksonâs sister.
âOhhhh ...yes, Uncle Sam was supposed to join us for dinner; he should be the one, let's get going to the dining table. We can finish the cleaning later, â she replied, dragging me out of the kitchen.
We were already seated waiting for the men to come over.
âBabe, meet Uncle Sam; I once told you he would be in Lagos to open a new branch for his business,â Jackson said.
My smile was replaced with a frown when I realized who it was âMr Funkeleâ!!!!
It now dawned on me that Jacksonâs last name was Funkele.
It seemed the man recognized me because I could tell from the look on his face that he was feeling very uncomfortable.
â Good evening, Uncle,â I said as I gave him a huge smile.
