There seems to be a joy within me when I know that I will be going to school. The home had been boring to me due to my mum's nagging, complaining bitterly about my unnecessary mistakes.
Sometimes, I make mistakes. Is she really my biological mother? But at the same time, I try to ignore it because I don't want any issues with her. Even looking at it vividly many times, I do prefer to talk to mad or chat with him more often than my mum.
During the holiday, my dad seems not to be at home. I was at home with my mum and my siblings. Most often, I prefer to stay in my room, pressing my phone, watching the latest movie on Netflix, or chatting with my friends. The holiday seems to be very short, but I was glad that I will be going back to school because I know I do enjoy myself with the company of my friends after lectures or on weekends.
The very morning I was leaving for school, my mum came to my room to give me her usual advice. She was like, “Do you know I'm going to miss you? I won't be able to shout at you or call you for your assignment in the kitchen, but still, I'm proud of you. Just be yourself in school, and remember the child of who you are.”. I smiled and said, “Okay, Ma. I gave her a hug. I felt within myself that I was too because of the correction, and her words of advice had word-shaped me a lot even though we both seemed to be cats and seemed at home. She is sweet too.
Getting to my hostel, I did the normal thing, hugging my friends, screaming, and jumping up to see them back to school. We seem to be three good friends always being together because we are in the same department, read, play, and go out to have fun at times during weekends, and sometimes have disagreements and settle them at the same time. People do call us the jolly friends that do not go separated when few people do think we are triplets. That sounds so funny though.
The following day of the resumption, we went to the cyber café to check the first register at the same for the course for the semester. We registered for the course, but one certain course brought a worrisome thought due to it being placed on a six-unit course, which seems to be the highest unit. We thought it was a practical course, which is compulsory for us to pass. It is known to be an entrepreneurship course, which is practical, and at the same time, we are writing an exam, which is a computer-based exam. Everything is objective with one hundred questions.
Fear gripped me when I heard this from one of our seniors who is ahead of us. Personally, I don’t like reading deep in a book; I just like the summary aspect of the book. A textbook was recommended for the course, which I bought. I decided to develop myself by reading deeply from the textbook so that I could have A’s in the course to get a GPA.
My friend was really shocked by my attitude toward reading, taking the entrepreneur course as my daily novel reading, and it was as if that was the only course I registered for. More than ever, I do enjoy the class, most of the time. We were grouped into six groups one day to carry out a project as another part of the course.
In my group, we made handmade school bags as a project. Which really fetches us a mark for our continued assessment. Our lecturer appraised us well with a good grade. We were left to prepare for the exam.
During the exam period, I really read the book like never before. But it really sounded funny that day. My friend and I woke up late to the exam venue. Getting there, we met a queue that we didn't expect. We asked our fellow colleagues, and then we were told that because the course was general, we needed to sign in online before entering the hall, and it was done department by department.
At first, I got discouraged. Due to the heat, the weather seemed to be hot, so I had to queue under it like that. At some point, the network seems not to be stable going and coming.
Then we had a false remorse that our department would be writing the course the following day. I felt discouraged due to my preparation for the course, and I had another course I was writing the following day. My friend and I decided to go back home.
While going, my friend had a call from our fellow colleague. “Hey! The line is back, and the network is stable; the lecturer just sent a message that our department is writing the exam that very day”. I was happy to hear that.
Even though the queue is discouraged, I have no choice but to bear the stress and tiredness. When it's got to my turn, I felt relief. Getting to the hall and seeing the question, I was like, Is this not the course I registered for? Because most of the question was Twisted, I just had to do my best and walk out of the hall with a brief relief that, as far as I am concerned, I won't fail that course because I prepared for it.
Getting to the hostel, my friend and I seem not to be happy, but we all believe that we are going to pass that course. To crown it all, my friend and I passed that course not just passed, but we had the distinction, which gladdened my heart a lot. But at first, I thought if my friend and I didn't wait patiently or if we didn't get the information on time. We might fail the course, which may lead to a drop in our CGP.
