Micheal refused to see his mother in the hospital, it broke his heart to see her strapped up computers and hanging on to dear life. He had put his whole energy in his work as he believed that he could use science to heal his mother. But when you are trying to heal a Brain tumour that has destroyed an extensive part of the brain, people start to look at you as crazy. Micheal had a bad feeling towards this mission, he knew that the chances of success were little but he couldn't resist the temptation of saving his mother. He had two of his trusted friends join him in this mission. Mark and Joseph were there names, they were his friends and fellow scientists for the company they worked for.
They had been working day and night to create a mini craft that would be able to carry three passengers and trying to make the craft isotonic with the blood fluid so they can gain entrance through the blood stream and make their way to the brain.
They stood together as they depent their heads to pray, they stood directly in front of the striking ray gun and they all had on their protective gear. As the ray hit them, they began to reduce in size and they all enter into the small craft. Their lab assistant carried the craft to the hosipital and injected it into the IV infusion that Micheal mother had on.
The craft entered into the blood stream and the followed the hepatic vein near liver as they tried to make their way to the brain. The mission was going successfully till they were stuck at a particular point in the stomach. They had hit a chewing gum and it was hard for the ship to move. The stomach looked like a lake of acid with food particles floating inside of it.
"Somebody would have to go out there with a ray gun and free the thrusters by melting the gum", Micheal said. They all stared at themselves waiting for one person to volunteer, Joseph stepped up and connected a line to his suit as he went out with the ray gun. Everything was going smoothly till he heard a scretching sound from the lake inside the stomach where they were stuck. He adjusted himself to look around but he didn't see anything. Micheal heard a loud shout and he started to draw back the line, he discovered that Joseph was no longer attached to it, the thought scared him but he connected a line to himself as he went to check where his partner was. He found Joseph a few centimetres from the ship, half of his body had been dipped into the lake in the stomach, he tried to grab hold of him and pull but something was in that lake and had a hold of his leg. He tried to pull again when he saw a huge tape worm reveal his head and Micheal ran away in the other direction. They started the ship and got out of there as fast as they could.
They continued their journey as they neared the heart, they could tell from the vibrations and the steady heart beat. They were foreign matter in the blood therefore the white blood cells had been working to find and destroy them as they were seen as a disease in the system.
The ship continued to make sounds as they were being constantly hit in different directions, the new lymphocytes (White blood cell) that had been created in the bone marrow had found them to be foreign matter, and wanted to destroy them. The radar in the ship told them that the ship would not hold for much longer. Micheal and Mark held unto there ray guns as they knew that very soon there ship would be destroyed. As they saw the lymphocytes they started to open fire at them. They tried to swim to the brain. They managed to make it to the entrance of the brain, through the blood brain barrier but Mark was heavily injured due to there brawl with the lymphocytes that seemed to regenerate after they have been split into two by the laser. Mark told Micheal to continue on the mission as he led the lymphocytes away and he overcharged his suit till it release energy and Micheal heard a loud boom behind him, he wiped his tears and continued the mission.
Micheal had gotten to the brain and cut out the tumour but since his ship was destroyed there was no way to go back home. The thought of his mother being alive made him happy and that was what mattered. He saw the lymphocytes surrounding him and he closed his eyes and cried tears of joy.
The End.
Would you justify the sacrifice Micheal made to save his mother? Was it really worth it? Should he have resisted the temptation to save her? Give me your thoughts in the comment section
