It was time to finally leave the city where I completed my National Youth Service Corps, and I was eager to move to a new one after much deliberation. I was also determined to leave after securing an apartment that I liked. It wasn't easy finding a good place in Ibadan city, but I did, and I saw God's hand in all my steps, which made me know He was with me as He promised.
The truth was, I didn't have much money on me, and I even had to call one of my aunts to support me in paying my first rent, and when I checked my account, hoping to add more from my earnings here on Hive, it still wasn't enough for some important things I needed to cover.
First, it was the money to transport all my belongings to Ibadan, and second, I had the intention of buying enough foodstuffs from this town because of how cheap they were, at least to last me for a few months before I would be getting more. I saw it as a good decision, but as I sat there doing a rough estimation on a sheet, I estimated everything to be above two hundred thousand naira.

As I put the pen in my mouth, I heaved a deep sigh, thinking of how to get such an amount of money in such a short time. I couldn't speak with my big sister again because she had done a lot already, and also, she promised to support me in getting some major gadgets, so I didn't want to bother her about anything.
I thought of another aunt of mine who resides in the United States, but I was afraid to mention such a large amount of money to her. Besides, I don't like disturbing her for anything. If it comes from her mind to give, fine.
When I looked around and saw every way closed, I decided to talk to God, which was the only last option and way for me. I bowed my head with my hands resting on the table and silently prayed: "Holy Spirit, I have no one to help me but you. Right now, these are what I need, and everything is around 200k. I don't want anything less than this amount." As I said that, I had this peace in me, and it felt like I just did the right thing.
I went about my day and focused on arranging other things in preparation for my leaving, which was less than 2 weeks away. That evening, I was in the kitchen clearing things up when my phone rang. Checking who the caller was, it was my aunt in the US. My heart was beating slowly, but I decided to summon the courage to speak to her.
"Hello, Good evening, ma," I greeted.
"Hello, Busayo. How are you? I heard you are about to move out of Saki to Ibadan," she asked.
"Yes, ma," I answered.
"Okay, I also have you in mind. Don't worry. You will not suffer."
"Yes, ma. Thank you very much."
"What are the things you need right now? Do you have a bed? What other things do you need for your new apartment? Tell me your plans," she continued.
"Ma, I have a good bed for now, and all I need is to get a bus to pack all my loads and get other things for my new place," I stammered as words were not coming straight, but managed to say some things.
She cut me off halfway, "Okay, don't worry. I will find something for you soon. Take care of yourself. I am happy for you. Just keep me informed of any other things you need."
"Okay, thank you, ma. Good night," I said.
She hung up, and I was there and didn't say a word for some seconds. It felt like I was in a dream with the conversation and her promise. I remembered the prayer I prayed. "Could this be that God heard me?" I thought. I felt joy in my heart, and I started pacing around, beaming with a smile on my face. The excitement made me forget some things I wanted to do, but I wasn't bothered at that point. All I was saying was, "God, thank you."
Later that night, my reverend turned on the generator, and I decided to go charge my phone and power banks. I was at their place when my big sister called to ask how far about my preparation. As we talked, I told her about my aunt and what happened earlier.
"I think she would give me like 50-100k with the way I am seeing it," I excitedly told her.
"Hey, Busayo, don't put your mind there oo. At least you can expect her to send you 50k, but don't go above that," she advised.
"Yeah, it's not like I am expecting too much, too. Well, I am just joking," I told her, just so we could close up the matter and talk about something else.
We talked about my new apartment and my plans for other things when I got there, and after some minutes, we said goodbye and hung up the call, and I continued charging.
Two hours later, I returned to my room. As I lay on my bed, I kept thinking about my aunt and also prayed to God to do His will.
A few days later, I was in the room writing a post when I got a WhatsApp message from my immediate younger sister, who was with my aunt in the US at that time.
"How far, Busayo. Aunt Kemi wants to send you money now," she informed me.
She actually went to visit her, and they both were on their way out for an event and so they were talking about me.

The next thing I saw was an amount of two hundred thousand naira sent into my account. I thought it was a joke as I rubbed my eyes again just to be clear and not that I was dreaming. I didn't know when tears dropped from my eyes. I became speechless, like, I asked, "God, is this how you work?" I couldn't believe it because it was just what I asked for and nothing less than that. I looked up and muttered, "Thank you, Holy Spirit," with my two hands clasped together to convey my deepest gratitude to Him.
I knelt to praise God while in tears because that was nothing but a miracle and an answer to prayer. I felt overjoyed, and tears kept rolling down my cheeks. I picked up my phone to do a voice note for my sisters to explain the whole thing, and I was crying. At some point, words failed me to express my heartfelt appreciation to my aunt.
Little did I know my sister played the voice note for her, who also felt emotional and had tears in her eyes. She was surprised and said, "Is it because of 200k I was crying?" But to me, it was more than that. It was like experiencing first time how God could show up when you ask for help.
It may look like the money was small to her, but very big to me and that God came through. I felt great joy that I was able to get everything I needed with the money.
