Hello to all in The Ink Well community, and thank you for all the recent activity. It has been wonderful to see the great skill-building activities and all the engagement on the Fast and Furious posts. And our community is growing!
We have two updates for you in this post.
Fast and Furious is Taking a Short Break
This has been an excellent learning experience for all of us. What we at The Ink Well have learned is that people need a little more breathing room to successfully take part in this initiative and we (the tiny staff at The Ink Well) need time to enjoy all the writing, provide feedback and reward comments.
Several of you have managed to write for all or nearly all of the writing challenges so far, which is wonderful.
We want to make sure everyone has the chance to participate in all activities, if they would like to. So we're going to take a break, let anyone catch up, and we'll put the next festival post up in about a week's time.
What can you do in the meantime?
- Please continue to post short stories to the community.
- Support the work of your fellow writers.
- Read our writing tips. Each tips post includes a list of all the tips that have come before. The latest is What Is Your Story's Setting?
- And finally, please be sure to read the community rules on the right panel of this community page. This is a fiction community. Please do not post other kinds of content.
Note that we do mute posts that don't comply with the The Ink Well community rules. We do not allow posts containing hate, or posts portraying violence against women of any kind.
When we kick off the next phase of the Festival, we'll set a manageable pace. Feel free to comment, if you have thoughts about it.
Writing Prize Announcements Coming Soon
We are carefully reading all stories submitted. Thank you to everyone who participated in the contest. We will have announcements and prizes soon!
