Four years have passed, and we're here, almost taking the last step toward our Bachelorette Degree. Funny how we were able to grow through the years from being dreamers without wings to the people we are now, almost flying our way toward our own realities.
As for many people who have come far from home, we may have heard people telling us we were ambitious to dream big and enter one of the most prestigious nursing schools in the Philippines.
In those years, we've heard people laugh at us. We have seen people shame our names and tell us nursing will not be worth it. Many of those may have judged that we will only stay in the university for a short time. In those years, we see people who came and gave us light, become our companions, and now one of our regrets or one of our best decisions in life.
Worry not, dreamers; no more bondage will tell us what to do or compare us to who we should become.
If our dreams no longer scare us, they are not big enough to take us to the top.
To our clinical instructors who served as our parents at school and our torch in the darkened path, thank you for opening our eyes to reality. For never giving up on us. For never being easy on us, except few exemptions. You showed us what it takes to become worthy of our sport in nursing school.
Some may make a few of us doubt if nursing is really for us. Some may have shed one or few tears due to our mistakes. Though at the end of every day, you shaped us into the best version of ourselves and the disciplined healthcare workers we may be in the future.
We are taking the last look at our struggles, and we sincerely thank you all for nurturing these little seeds until they become sturdy to provide protection. In the future, we ask you to continue encouraging young minds to keep dreaming and growing.
