Recent revelations related to the files of the late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein have sparked a new wave of anger among U.S. Democratic circles, following the disclosure that the name of former President Donald Trump appeared in documents that had not previously been fully released. Although the Department of Justice has not filed any formal criminal charges against him, prominent Democratic figures have called for an immediate investigation and for Trump to be held accountable “as a participant in Epstein’s network,” which has been linked to the exploitation of minors.
Democratic Representative Alexandria Cortez stated to the press:
“If these documents are accurate, then it’s unacceptable for Trump to be treated as if he’s above the law. He must be investigated like any ordinary citizen, especially if he was part of a criminal network that abused children.”
Senator Mazie Hirono added that Trump’s name appearing in Epstein’s files “requires the highest levels of transparency and accountability,” emphasizing that “letting this go unpunished would be a stain on the face of American justice.”
In contrast, Trump has denied all allegations, describing the reports as a “vicious political smear campaign” aimed at damaging his reputation ahead of the upcoming elections.
Unconfirmed leaks suggest that some of the “favors” paid to Epstein were arranged under the supervision of influential figures, reinforcing suspicions of a complex web of relationships involving businesspeople and politicians.
Amid these developments, pressure is mounting on the U.S. Department of Justice to release the full files and launch a public investigation, as widespread calls grow to “hold the guilty accountable—no matter their name.”
