Between swapping gear and having a small amount of apartment space, I feel like I’m constantly adjusting and readjusting my synthesizer workspace.
I’m currently living in a duplex and my neighbors recently moved to Australia (can’t blame em’!). One of them was into woodworking and left a ton of nice materials behind. Hate to see a good resource go to waste, so I decided I’d get a little creative and build some simple, custom solutions to see if I could clean up and organize my situation a bit.
What's not pictured is a cable carriage thing mounted on the bottom, so I'm able to get most of the cables off the ground (for what cables are pictured, I still have plans to hide those)
I'm pretty excited about it. I like that the interface is in a very accessible place compared to my previous setup, where my mixer was basically on the floor. By switching to the interface, I also bump up to 8 separate channels while recording, whereas I was recording a single track from the mixer. I lose some effects pedals in the setup, but I'm currently experimenting with VSTs anyway, so that's a wash.
My only other tweak I'd like to see happen soon is I'd like to mount a headphone holder to the bottom of the workspace. I could also benefit from a place to put my computer... Also maybe some LED strips.... Well, also maybe some more plants... and....
