Like Linux or MAGA Hats, Red is the COMMAND color in Star Trek but used to be a death wish lol

I wonder if it was a historical cultural cold war reason for changing the colors from TOS 1960s to 1980s/90s TNG color scheme where red went from Security, to Command? and Gold went from command to security.
