Autumn is my most-liked time of the year, when my favourite colours are prevalent; orange, yellow, and green. The warm colours are my spirit colours that feel soulful. Still, as much as I do love the season, it takes a lot for me to get out of my pyjamas, as I like to be snug and comfy, ideally by a window looking out.
Today, I was pleasantly surprised by an unusually crisp, bright and sunny day, so I put on my funky boots, knee-high socks, and a skirt and went for a walk on leaves that looked like an autumn carpet.

This attire is a comfortable casual look, which is girl-like and cheerful.
The boots are a one-off piece that I purchased some years ago in the Philippines.
I remember sitting on a tricycle and spotting those boots in a Ukay-Ukay shop along the highway, and I asked the driver to pull over. Immediately I figured I would save them for autumn when it's still warm enough to wear with dresses or skirts, and knee-high angling boot socks, which stay up without constriction due to its gentle top.
Fashion for me depends on my mood, the weather, the occasion, and the change of seasons adds excitement. I've always found myself shying away from trendy pieces and going for timeless pieces.

This hoody jumper I've had this for 16 years, and what I love most about it is that it is comfortable and close-fitting with enough room to be worn alone. Or tailored enough to be worn neatly under a winter coat on freezing days.

I particularly love the front slide pockets for keeping my hands warm. Also, the sporty style of the jumper means that when I'm walking with my hands in my pockets, it gives a comfy, confident flair, which is playful, as if I'm saying; "I've got sweets in my pockets that you can't have."

One piece of clothing that's always in my wardrobe is a denim skirt. I love that they can be worn right throughout the year, and this one with an A-line cut right above the knee is ideal for someone with a petite frame. The length is also appropriate for all ages without garnering unwanted attention, especially when paired with knee-high boots.

This crossbody bag is a favourite of mine, and I've had it for 18 years. It's by a brand called Tomboy Wiz. The material is durable, and light, the colour works for all seasons and coordinates well with most outfits. Its multiple secure side pockets are ideal for travel or puttering around the town.
I love to mix match and coordinate my clothes. It's like all colours seem to complement and contrast to make outfits seem natural. With timeless pieces of garments and accessories like these, I find new ways of wearing them. For instance, I've never worn this identical ensemble before, and it makes me feel like I have newly bought items.
With the changes of seasons, I find that there's not much need to purchase new items of clothing, especially for autumn and the winter season. I've found that with a little care and creativity, I can jazz up my clothes for a unique stylish look.
This outfit was perfect walking through muddy sections of the woodlands, and the warm earthy colours made me feel lighthearted enough to capture these shots; On my way to the supermarket, to beat the Sunday closing hour of 04:00 PM.
So, all images belong to me and were taken on this day, Sunday 15 October 2023 in Newton Abbot through Mulbury Woodlands.
