Showing my sweater collection (PT. 1)

For more than two years I began to feel a lot of interest in a specific type of clothing item: hoodies and sweaters, for this very reason throughout all this time I have come to form a collection of these of which I feel very proud, several of them I have bought directly, and others have been gifts from my loved ones as a consequence of knowing that I simply enjoy collecting them.

For this reason, I felt it would be interesting to make a series of posts where I show you some of the sweaters I have, with the purpose of not only trying to explain why I like them so much, but generally how I try to implement them with my shape. to dress and the different ways in which I acquired each one of them.

You see, although we often associate these forms of collection with "unnecessary accumulation", the truth is that each of these sweaters and hoodies has a background that makes it special for me, either because it came from a person who I appreciated very much, or because it allows me to connect with a special moment in my life.

This time I will talk to you about some of the ones that I consider to be the most representative and varied in my closet, I hope you enjoy it and of course, I am willing to accept any kind of criticism.

1. Dark orange hoodie

Curiously, this was the first sweater I received, it was a gift from my girlfriend and I have always been very fascinated with its color. One of the reasons why I feel that it captures my way of dressing perfectly is because it is quite minimalist, it is comfortable and it has an orange tone that is difficult to define but quite natural, in fact, a good portion of my closet is made up of clothes in similar tones.

Honestly, I've put on quite a bit of weight since I got it so I haven't been using it very regularly lately, but it seemed like a great starting point considering the emotional connection I have to it.

I usually mix it with jeans and simple white sneakers, I feel that it goes very well with blue.

2. Black sweater, H&M.

This was one of the last sweaters I bought, I bought it when I was coming back to Venezuela from a vacation in a mall in Cúcuta - Colombia. Although many people are against "fast-fashion" and everything it represents for the environment, I feel that brands like H&M give us cheap and durable alternatives, from a moral point of view I don't think there is a problem with her if we decide to take advantage of these garments over time, and we do not throw them away after a couple of uses.

My favorite part of this sweater is the texture, it's quite soft and almost mimics animal fur, it has a little text on the left chest that says "CleanSlate" and it's oversized.

Like the orange hoodie, I usually wear it with jeans, although from time to time I combine it with slightly bulkier sneakers.

3. Red Sweater, Kappa.

Out of all the sweaters I've bought this is probably one of the cheapest, as ironically I got it at a thrift store for only $5.

I think we could classify it as vintage, something that is quite evident if we analyze its label and the very old school cut of the entire garment, at the time I considered it a somewhat risky purchase since I was not used to wearing things above my size, but Over time I came to appreciate the comfort it provided for this very reason.

4. Blue College Sweater, Pull & Bear.

This is my most recent sweater, it was a gift from an aunt who was traveling out of the country for a couple of months and after noticing my interest in sweaters, she thought it was the best thing she could give me.

I love its loose fit with fairly dropped shoulders and a fairly short torso area, it makes the proportions look great when worn with appropriate jean or pants.

5. Yellow sweater.

I think it's great that despite the great variety of prices that there are throughout this list, if there is a common characteristic among all of them, it is that they maintain a fairly high quality standard, regardless of whether some are thicker than others, or that just have more or less details.

This yellow sweater is a perfect example of this, since despite the fact that it cost more than $50 in retail, I managed to get it in an outlet store with a discount that left it at only $9.

I quite appreciate its worn yellowish tone, as well as the embroidered emblems on the chest and one of the sleeves.

6. Black hoodie from Grogu.

I would like to end this first part of my collection with another hoodie, in this case, again, a gift: Although it sounds a bit childish, I am a passionate fan of Star Wars, the mandalorian, and obviously Grog, for this very reason I think it's great to have the possibility of having even part of the official merch of this excellent franchise.

Beyond how much I enjoy its physical appearance, this hoodie has an interesting worn texture, and its finishes are of very good quality.

And well, with this I finish the first edition of this project, I know it's a bit simple but I like the idea of talking about clothes and fashion in general, maybe it's strange that I do it as a man but it seems important to me to try to break with the stigmas that we have about it, in the end, I feel that with all this topic the fun and feeling comfortable with oneself is what comes first. Desde hace más de dos años empecé a sentir muchísimo interés por uns tipo de prenda de ropa específico: Los hoodies y los suéteres, por esta misma razón a lo largo de todo este tiempo he llegado a formar una colección de estos de las cuales me siento muy orgulloso, varios de ellos los he comprado yo directamente, y otros p han Sido regalos de mis seres querido cómo consecuencia de saber que simplemente disfruto recolectarlos.

Por eso mismo sentí que sería interesante hacer una serie de post en dónde les muestro algunos de los suéteres con los que cuento, con el propósito de no solo trstar de exponer por qué me gustan tanto, sino generalmente en como trato de implementarlos con mi forma de vestir y las distintas formas en la que adquirí cada uno de ellos.

Verán, aunque muchas veces asociamos estás formas de colección con una "acumulación innecesaria" la verdad es que cada uno de estos suéteres y hoodies cuenta con trasfondo que lo hace especial para mi, ya sea porque vino de parte de una persona que apreciaba muchísimo, o porque me permite conectar con un momento especial de mi vida.

En esta ocasión les hablaré un poco sobre algunos de los que considero más representativos y variados en mi clóset, espero que lo disfruten y por supuesto, estoy dispuesto a aceptar cualquier tipo de criticismo.

1. Hoodie anaranjado oscuro

Curiosamente, este fue el primer suéter que recibí, fue un regalo por parte de mi novia y desde siempre me sentí muy fascinado con su color. Una de las razones por la que siento que captura mi forma de vestir a la perfección es porque resulta bastante minimalista, es cómodo y tiene un tono anaranjado difícil de definir pero bastante natural, de hecho, una buena porción de mi closet se compone de prendas en tonalidades similares.

La verdad, he subido bastante de peso desde que lo recibí así que no suelo usarlo con mucha regularidad últimamente, pero me pareció un punto de partida estupendo considerando la conexión emocional que tengo con el.

Generalmente suelo mezclarlo con jeans y sneakers blancos simples, siento que se lleva muy bien con el azul.

2. Suéter negro, H&M.

Este fue uno de los últimos suéteres que adquirí, lo compre cuando venía de regreso a Venezuela de unas vacaciones en un centro comercial de Cúcuta - Colombia. Aunque mucha gente se encuentra en contra del "fast-fashion" y de todo lo que representa para el medio ambiente, siento que las marcas como H&M nos otorgan alternativas económicas y durables, desde un punto de vista moral no creo que exista un problema con ella si decidimos sacarle provecho a estas prendas a través del tiempo, y no las desechamos luego de un par de usos.

Mi parte favorita de este suéter es la textura, es bastante suave y casi mimica el pelaje de un animal, tiene un pequeño texto en el pecho izquierdo que dice "CleanSlate" y tiene un corte over sized.

Al igual que el hoodie anaranjado suelo usarlo con jeans generalmente, aunque de vez en cuando lo combino con sneakers un poco más bulky.

3. Suéter Rojo, Kappa.

De todos los que he comprado este es probablemente uno de los suéteres más económicos, ya que irónicamente lo conseguí en una thrift store por tan solo 5$.

Creo que podríamos catalogarlo cómo vintage, algo que resulta bastante evidente si analizamos su etiqueta y el corte tan old school de toda la prenda, en su momento lo consideré una compra un poco arriesgada puesto que no acostumbraba usar cosas por encima de mi talla, pero con el tiempo supe apreciar la comodidad que brindaba por esta misma razón.

4. Blue College Sweater, Pull & Bear.

Este es mi suéter más reciente, fue un regalo de una tía que se encontraba viajando fuera del país durante un par de meses y, tras observar mi interés por los suéteres, consideró que era la mejor cosa que me podía dar.

Me encanta su corte loose con los hombros bastante caídos y un área de torso bastante corta, hace que las proporciones se vean muy bien cuando se usa con un jean o pantalón apropiado.

5. Suéter amarillo.

Me parece genial que a pesar de la gran variedad de precios que hay a lo largo de esta lista, si hay una característica común entre todos es que mantienen un estandard de calidad bastante alto, independientemente de que unos sean más gruesos que otros, o que simplemente cuenten con más o menos detalles.

Este suéter amarillo es una muestra perfecta de esto, ya que a pesar de que en retail tenía un costo de más de 50$, logré conseguirlo en una tienda tipo "outlet" con un descuento que lo dejó en solo 9 dólares.

Aprecio bastante su tono amarillento desgastado, así como la los emblemas bordados que tiene en el pecho y una de las mangas.

6. Hoodie negro de Grogu.

Me gustaría finalizar está primera parte de mi colección con otro hoodie, en este caso, nuevamente, un regalo: Aunque suene un poco infantil soy un fanático apasionado de Star Wars, the mandalorian, y obviamente de Grogu, por esto mismo me parece genial tener la posibilidad de contar con aunque parte de la merch oficial de esta excelente franquicia.

Más allá de lo mucho que disfruto su aspecto físico, este hoodie cuenta con una textura desgastada interesante, y sus acabados son de muy buena calidad.

Y bueno, con esto finalizo la primera edición de este proyecto, sé que es un poco simple pero me gusta la idea de hablar sobre ropa y moda en general, quizá es extraño que lo haga siendo un hombre pero me parece importante tratar de romper con los estigmas que tenemos al respecto, al final, siento que con todo este tema la diversión y el sentirse cómodo con uno mismo es lo que viene primero.
