KIDDO TEARZ
A skate video to make trans/homophobic skateboarders uncomfortable.
This is one of my first independent projects since i started working as a video maker.
I will tell the whole story behind this project and hope u guys like it :)
Back in the beginning of 2018, Lucas Guimarães, inspiring artist and friend, invited me to shoot a video that some dude Alexandre Nitszche was making and had to do with skateboard, which he knew I practice since ever. I got super hyped because I had just moved in to Rio de Janeiro, coming from Sorocaba, a coutry-side city near São Paulo, to start college in the federal university of Rio de Janeiro, and was still finding my place and starting to make friends in here.
So i got friends with Alexandre, he explained me his idea for the video and we started shooting it. We went Rio's downtown every sun-day for 5 weeks straight till we got all the images we wanted. Me and Alexandre had the whole idea and a very messy kind of screenplay in our minds, so the whole process was really free and spontaneous, all the skaters had the liberty to try out things as we experimented directing their gestures, tricks and acting, with me focusing on the photography of the shots.
By the end of the filming, Alexandre, looking at what we've already filmed, found it not enough for what he really had in his mind. So we assumed it as being a trailer of a video which has still not been made. So i started editing, which was very fun to do since we did not have a structured screenplay for me to follow, so I had to built the story as I kept on editing.
In the middle of my editing process Alexandre got the opportunity to relate our video project with this fashion stylist from São Paulo, IGOR DADONA who has a clothing brand with the same. IGOR loved what Alexandre showed him about our video and proposed to play it at his fashion show, which happened at the Casa dos Criadores, in São Paulo, by the end of 2018. Besides showing our video on the fashion show, right before his brand, he invited, me, Alexandre and the skaters to skate on the show while the models walked through.
So i called my best friend [Ricardo Kalil](https://www.instagram.com/ricardokalil_/), from São Paulo and invited him to go with us. We had lots of fun going to the show, and it was very nice to see everyone enjoying our video also haha :)
