this spot is close to work. well, its 20 minutes away but thats the closest.
it was somewhat warm and even though it could have been wet we decided to skate.
when we got there, the waxed parts of the ledges were covered in beaded up water. we used a sweatshirt to swipe off all the water and it sort-of worked. to let the ledge dry we decided to skate the hip. i got a backside flip that i was happy with.
the tre flip took a minute but i thought i landed it really solid. looking back at the footage i see there is something wrong with my tre flip. its all inverted. i want to do tre flips that are more flat and flip faster. i dont know if it the shape of my board or what? i ordered two boards last night one of them SHAPE 2 so we will see what the difference between the Fucking Awesome shapes are. both red so im hyped on these.
boards are super expensive now. i know these are the top-of-the-line boards on the market but sheesh. i never skate anything besides FA wood because the boards have so much pop and they actually don't lose their pop-- its really weird. like, the sound of the wood is still very dense after months of use i don't know how they do it. but its totally worth it at my age. to have the best equipment is worth not getting hurt, and being able to rely on the ollie in a pinch can be the difference between life and death.
watch the video on youtube above, the skatehive website has been down but soon i hope skatehive will have a whole new system that they are working on that is so much faster so im looking forward to that.
