I am finally home, and its very hard to summarize feelings after this incredible experience in Karaoke Network School.
First of all, how did I end up in Malaysia?
Me , @willyfox, @r4topunk, @vaipraonde and realityCrafter won second place at base blockchain hackathon (base batches) , then base itself sponsored our flights and our month membership there, we got free hotel and services just to build and having fun experiment this start up community thing.
Getting to know different people from different places with different mindsets for 1 month was truly a lifechaging experience.
The knowledge and the love we all shared was off the charts. 📈 🌕
We had a lot of fun, improved our health, and got to be very productive at the same time.
I tried to recap some memories in this video, hope it feels like a postcard for those involved.
Special thanks for my beloved blank.space team
About Balajis Network School
The Network School was part of an experimental gathering with the motivation to test some ideas around what Balaji Srinivasan called the “Network State.” An online community so bonded by shared values and goals that it starts to act like an actual country-without-borders. People connect online first; they build trust and culture, and form projects together before meeting in physical spaces to create impact in the real world and maybe negotiate recognition akin to traditional nation-state entities.
Network School is one of the ways Balaji and others are trying to figure out how these communities can actually get started and thrive. Rather than just theorizing, they are experimenting live, letting people come together to collaborate, create, and exist side by side — in a sense, feeling out what it is like to forge a new society from the Internet up. For me, it seemed like a window into how future communities might live, work, and skate together on ideas that bind them-all about shared purpose and creativity.
One of the coolest things about Network School is how everyone’s encouraged to share knowledge and skills. In the photo above, we were giving a class about skateboarding and Web3, explaining how Skatehive was formed, how it works, and how skaters around the world are using decentralized tools to build their own media channels, communities, and even economies. It was amazing to connect our love for skating with ideas about technology and new ways of organizing people and creativity.
After the talk we did a pratical skate session with the other nerds:
