Hello friends, this is my entry to the contest organized by ocd and skate hive which can be found here. If you took part in the first contest a while ago then you know what quest for Stoken game is but if not, this is a 2D game that involves a man with a skateboard, a sword and an American flag who rides, hunts for monsters, kills them for gold or Stoken and does so in multi dimensions or worlds.
To be honest, the game has come a long way since we reviews it last year or early this year. I can’t quite remember when we reviews it but it’s very pleasing to see that @web-gnar and his team took into consideration the comments we made and worked on them. I’ll like to say thank you for that web-gnar.
To begin, the game has added the hive keychain feature so it’s no longer a load the website and start playing. Now, you have to login to the game with your hive keychain. For a hive game, I think that’s very good.

When I first logged in, I saw a page which wasn’t the first thing you saw the last time we reviewed. I believe this is to test out the instructions and to help new users know their instructions and the keys to use before you start the actual battle. As you proceed, you realize that Z is for activating the sword, space bar is for jump and X is for unlocking wallets and lighting bon fires.

When I completed the instructions, I walked into a portal and I officially started the game.

The page that loaded is what I remember was the first page the last time I played.

Knowing the keys already, I proceeded with the gameplay. I moved till I met my first blue looking monster who had some Stoken. We fought and fortunately, I was able to defeat it but I lost some health.

I continued the game and then a notification and instruction popped up telling me I had to jump to go to the UFO. So I jumped.

But for new users, it’s not just a normal jump because if you jump just once you’ll die. You have to jump more than once and in quick session to get to the UFO. But once you land, be ready to fight or evade some flying “spaceships” because they will take your life. I couldn’t evade all and so I lost some health.

I entered into the UFO and had to fight some birds. I decided to use the route on top because whenever I play and I use the route at the bottom, I get attacked by pins, monsters and birds. I continued with that route and killed some more spaceships till I made my way to the next world.

I moved my way through this world killing some birds and picking up coins till I saw I portal that would take me to Greece. I entered the portal and landed in Greece.

In Greece, I had to pick up a gun. This is a new feature which wasn’t there when I first reviewed in the other contest.

I found my way through Greece evading electric shocks and then I met a very big green looking monster. I shot at the monster severally till it died leaving some really large amount of gold to collect. I killed another monster who looked like a monk but was responsible for the shocks.

I then moved down and saw another portal which took me to a water filled environment. I surfed my way through but not before being killed by a giant fish.

On second attempt, I killed some giant fishes of my own and got to the top with an inscription, mindcontrol. I don’t know what that means and when I moved forward, there was no way through.

So, I used the route down and went through another portal which took me to an art gallery.

I fought some monsters and destroyed some ships. I was able to finally make it out of this stage after several tries and honestly, I don’t know how. I guess I just jumped a lot and used the arrow keys at the right time.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t figure my way out of the challenge that presented itself and so I died and returned to the art gallery. I couldn’t make it out this time around and died.

I tried again but I gave up. I concluded the game here but U must say I was very impressed.
My Takeaways From The Game.
First of all, congratulations to the team for what they’ve done after the first review. You really did listen to our feedback and I really appreciate that.
I like that the attack is no longer the shift key. You can attack severally now with no interruptions.
I like that there’s a gun to help with the bigger monsters. It caters for your health as you don’t get too close to the monsters.
Most importantly, I like that the quest for Stoken doesn’t lag as much as it did the first time. I still has some delays but it’s something I can live with and I can say for sure won’t drive new users away.
I also like that there’s a leaderboard which tells you if you’re one of the best players or not.

I know I'm 9th on the leaderboard but bring the monsters on baby, I'll crush them
And lastly, I like that there’s a prize pool where the top players share some rewards.
Thank you skate hive team for your progress in the quest for Stoken game.
