Hello my dear fellow Gods Unchained lovers, how are you? I hope so!
Here we are together again to once again talk a little more about the topics of this amazing and intriguing game.
In the last few days I have been dealing with several subjects of the game, having made a "series" of posts for an evolutionary and chronological learning, and, for those who are interested, follows the list with the posts:
- GODS UNCHAINED - FIRST EXPERIENCE
- GODS UNCHAINED - GODS OVERVIEW
- GODS UNCHAINED - READING CARDS
- GODS UNCHAINED - CREATURE ABILITIES (ROAR, AFTERLIFE AND FRONTLINE)
In the last post I dealt with creature abilities, having explained what specifically an ability is and what its use is, and the topic of the post, besides the general explanation about abilities, was about the abilities "roar", "afterlife" and "frontline".
However, as we know, within Gods Unchained there is still a wide range of other skills beyond those covered in the previous topic, which is why it is necessary to show another post to talk a little more about some more game skills for evolution and improvement in our style of play.
And here we go.
Blitz is an excellent ability that allows the creatures to attack on the turn they are summoned to the battlefield.
It is a "surprise effect" with great effectiveness to cause damage quickly to opposing creatures that you don't want them to have the possibility to attack on the next turn.
For example: If your opponent summoned cards on the battlefield with high damage but not high life, but your current cards can't cause enough damage to defeat them all, in this case a creature with blitz proves to be important so you can increase your attack power even on the same turn.
Just remember that the Blitz ability can't be used to attack Gods, so the creature with Blitz, when summoned onto the battlefield, can only attack the opposing creatures in the first round.
But regardless of this limitation, Blitz can be a great differential and will certainly make a big difference when well used. I usually use creatures with Blitz when I am at a disadvantage and my opponent places a card on the battlefield with high damage and low life, thus frustrating his intentions.
Regeneration is a skill whose effect is to heal the life of your creature at the end of the turn, according to the amount pointed in the description of the card's skill, if it has suffered damage from opponent's attacks in the previous round or even damage from attacking some card in your round.
The card on the right "Black Jaguar" has statuses of 3 strength and 3 life, as well as having the ability Regen and Confused (which in my view is a debuff, but we can deal with that later in another topic)
As stated in the body of the card description, Black Jaguar's Regen ability is 1, meaning that the creature will recover 1 life at the end of the round, always limited to its life cap, in this case 3, which can be increased by buffing from another card.
This ability, when well used, is extremely useful and a great differential in the battlefield, when I have a card with Regeneration I always try to dose my attacks on the creature according to the amount of its regen per round. Sometimes, obviously varying according to the battle situation and in which the opponent does not have many cards with damage, it is advantageous to "undermine" the life of the opponent's card with only one attack of his creature with regeneration, than to make another attack in which eventually one of my creatures would be defeated.
In addition, we should always pay attention when there is a Regeneration card in the game if the attack of your creature will defeat the opponent, because otherwise it will recover its life, even partially, at the end of the round, causing your card to have been even defeated (if the strength of the opponent's creature is greater than the life of your card) in a totally unnecessary way.
While Frontline is an ability that forces opposing creatures to attack the creature benefiting from its effects, Backline has an entirely opposite effect, that is, the card with the effects of Backline can only be attacked when there is no other friendly card on the battlefield.
So, while Frontline for me would be the "tank" of my team, according to the analogy I made in my previous post about abilities, Backline would be the "snipers" of the team, those creatures that cause effective damage and are there to hurt.
This ability, when well used, can cause your opponent to "tilt" and not have many options of what to do, because to eventually defeat a creature with Backline, he would need to: defeat all yours creatures, cause direct damage through card abilities (example card that causes damage to the opponent's creature) or use a card with flank ability, which I will explain below.
A creature with flank ability can attack any opposing creature, thus ignoring the "frontline" and "backline" abilities that an opposing creature would eventually have.
In this case, for example, if the opponent has 3 creatures on the battlefield, one with no ability, one with backline, and one with frontline, your creature with the flank ability will be able to attack any of the 3 opponent creatures.
In other words, it won't necessarily have to attack the creature with the frontline ability, nor will it be prevented from attacking the creature with backline before defeating the other cards.
Thus, as the name of the ability itself says, we can consider that flank, with a little imagination, would be like a "side attack" of the creature, and not a "front attack", so the two abilities "frontline" and "backline" can be ignored since the damage would come from the side.
In today's post I talked about 4 more amazing abilities present in the Universe of Gods Unchained, as you can see our knowledge is increasing every day and with each new study, which certainly influences, and a lot, in our ability within the game.
Knowing the abilities is certainly a differential, because many players do not have full knowledge about the effects of each of these, so the good use of these and at the right time can be the difference between victory and defeat.
I hope, with this post, that I have been able to clarify a little about the above mentioned abilities, and I look forward to the next post with new teachings.
Thank you for reading.
