Gumeta Update Time!
I know I said no more updates, but you know me :) I had some spare time today and once again, I heard the sad cry form community for more visibility on decks, so I did a nice update!
I revamped the popup with decks for each domain to show up to 30 cards, mostly for the Singleton format. Other modes are also automatically adjusted, and usually, 20+ cards are visible. I added percentage usage of each card in the archetype, so now it's clear which cards are most used per deck. If you want more details on a card, just click on it!
I also adjusted the grouping algorithm to ensure decks merge correctly into archetypes. I'm happy with the results, but for the best data accuracy, please do not select all ranks at once. Personally, I always select a 12-hour timeframe and 2 or 3 ranks I'm interested in.
Today, I already played my 10 daily games in formats and I'm astonished by how fresh and balanced it is. What I donโt like about formats is that rank doesnโt matter in matchmaking. Not gonna lie, I lost to some rank 9 twice today due to bad luck. But I think it can be very frustrating for lower ranks to face well-mastered, optimized Mythic rank decks.
Quick Meta Overview โ Singleton
๐ "War, War never changes"
War, as usual, has a very strong aggro deck, not much different from constructed mode. A new strong deck is Azaiah, which can handle almost everything except too much aggro.
๐ฅ Deception
Guild Deception looks very similar to what we have in constructed mode. It performs well, but struggles against aggressive decks.
๐ฅ Nature โ Mutation & Control
Mutation and Control decks are similar to constructed. They can handle almost every matchup but are prone to bad luck due to the lack of key card duplicates.
#4 Light โ Low popularity but solid winrate
CO and Olympians decks, just like in constructed, have low popularity but a solid winrate.
#5 Death โ Standard Zombies are struggling
Terrible winrate for standard zombies, but it looks like someone is playing a Sleep deck with some success. However, there are just too many bad matchups for Death in this mode.
#6 Magic โ Arrandion deck looks promising
This is strange. Arrandion deck is doing very well, but also the sample size is too low (I'm analyzing only rank 11-12). I think Magic might struggle against Aggro War due to the lack of key removals, which might explain the low winrate for other Magic decks.
Overall, it looks like every domain has at least one strong deck, and that's a very good sign! Formats require a different game plan compared to constructed, and the meta has to adjust. But I believe playing formats will remain the most enjoyable experience.
I hear the community really likes 'Singleton', so I can only hope it will rotate more often!
