

I’m pretty excited about the Community Quests; although the way the prizes are distributed is pretty top heavy, I was always interested in doing deck restriction challenges like this, like when I did Welcome and Core cards only or used specific tribes in my last series.
This first one is a pretty simple one, and there are some good Aggro decks out there already with 0-2 6+ mana cards which can be easily subbed out to meet the requirements. I decided to use my Aggro Light deck that got me my first weekend top 10 finish and modified it for this challenge.


Basically I just took my previous deck and took out Asterius and put in an Intimidating Uplifter. If I had access to a second Highborn Knight it would’ve been that instead.


I actually thought I could get near the top 20 but I had some bad luck, finishing 6-4, 6-4, and 7-3 over the 3 days and ending up with only 19 wins. The bottom of the top 20 ended up with 21 wins. My win percentage of the original deck was around 70+%, which would’ve gotten me close to it, but during this challenge with the modified deck I only got 64%. Oh well, next time!

The next challenge is interesting, Genesis, Trial, and Divine Order only, which means no Welcome, Core, and the latest expansion. A lot of decks are gimped without Core cards so this should be interesting. I made a couple of options but they didn’t look too strong compared to without the restriction, so we’ll see if I survive haha. What deck are you guys going to use??
