A weekly recap of my Mythic Weekend Ranked experience, this time doing a challenge of using all the different tribes. Prior to this, I’ve done two challenges so far, first a Free-To-Play (F2P) Gauntlet with all the Gods to show that they can all compete and get Legendary packs, and second I did another Gauntlet using only Welcome and Core Cards.
Onto the Amazon! I had General Orythia from previous weekend packs so I wanted to utilize her, thus I went with a Midrange deck. However, looking back it might’ve been better to just go all out on a low curve and went Aggro instead, since the Amazons don’t provide draw or value. In the end I ended up with 11 Wins.

Weekend | 24 | 25 |
---|---|---|
Tribe | Atlantean | Amazon |
God | Magic | Nature |
Wins | 12 | 11 |
Prize (USD) | $16.5 | $14.5 |
Here’s the deck that I used, costing 0.0195 ETH or ~$21.

Another week of Deception meta, and while I didn’t do toooo bad against them, it was still a bulk of the games where I was under 50%, with a 4-5 record. I did the worst against Magic with 1-4, and I thought the couple of Warded creatures could help, but it seems Amazons are more geared against other creature-based boards, although an Aggro version might be able to down the slower magic decks. Another surprise for the week was the return of Aggro Light, and this deck did 50/50 against them. Only played against 3 Nature which is probably the lowest ever!

Strengths
-Nice amount of blitz and board control through creatures
-Good buffs to other Amazons
-Vast variety of early-mid game options
-Some Ward/Hidden/Afterlife options to keep board presence to utilize tribe synergy
Weaknesses
-No card draw or value generation
-Not many late game options
-Creatures are slightly understated
Notable Cards
Sanctum Guardian is basically a Broccoli (Marsh Walker) and we know how good that is, although here you have to satisfy its tribe condition. If you do though this should be sticky enough to stay around for a buff or to grow your Riverjumper Captain. Canopy Sniper is a very fun card to play with especially when you got some Amazons on board; now imagine two on board! You can keep the board very clean with it. Good against strength steal Deception as well since 0 attack creature still trigger its effect to kill those low health strength stealers. Myrto’s Daughter is probably the best Amazon out there, its buff is just insane, plus it has blitz as well. It’s versatile in that you can buff itself if you don’t have any other Amazons on board, but you almost always want to buff another if you can.
Notable Cards Not In My Deck
Amazons actually have quite a few Regen supports from the new expansion, with the best one being Dalia, Night Gardener, which has Echo and can spew out Injured Sprouts, but fits more into a Regen deck that utililizes Wild creatures well. Selena is another good Amazon thatdoesn’t really fit into an Amazon deck, as you don’t want your random buffs to land on her since she can’t attack. Warrior of Paradise seems like a pretty decent Aggro creature, with its own blitz and buff to another creature.
Other Gods
Other than nature which has 37(!) God-specific Amazons, both Death and Light has just 1. There’s quite a few neutrals, but you wouldn’t be building any Amazon tribe decks other than with Nature.

More A’s! Anubians but with a little twist. Heirloom Death with their 1-mana Anubians and void revival is a meta deck right now, but I want to play something off-meta so we’ll see what I end up with. Hopefully something that’s strong against Deception beucase I don’t think there’ll be any balance changes this week!

Nothing special here, and no shinies, maybe I jinxed myself from last week haha.
