Greeting Summoners
Another week, another new Splinterlands posts. In this post I want to share an alternative tactic that I used to use if I do not have the proper option in certain condition. A Hack? well you can call it that, but I prefer not to because it is not that effective but it is better than having none at all.
One of them is about earthquake ruleset. We need flying units to avoid the recurring damage or we can use summoners who have flying ability buff to save all his line up. This is my problem, I don't have them LoL.
There are not many units who have flying ability in these days. There were many in the past, I don't know in future they could be more than now but for now... they are very limited. Getting the right summoner from the loan market sometime doesn't work too, because due to they scarcity, the price can be high up there and you will bleed out your rewards by affording that summoner which you can not use all the time.
Usually to compensate that condition, I get some cheaper units who have shield ability. To be honest, not all of them are cheap, some are not. So here are two units who have shield ability that are not cheap, but they become my favorite during the earthquake ruleset.
The first one is Meriput MAgician, she is a healer from Rebellion edition with a shield ability. She has a good health point, so she will last a bit longer even earthquake damage hurting him every round.
The second one is Calabash Sage. Same as Meriput Magician, a healer with shield ability. The difference are that Calabash comes from Conclave Arcana edition and he is a range unit. A bit funny because he is a sage but using an archer damage, based on the name I think he should be a mage too.
Both of them are life element, because I like this element, the white team. Because white team is my favorite, it is natural that I have more hack on this element compared to the other. Anyway having a double healer during a ruleset that consume damage every turn, either an earthquake ruleset or noxious fumes, could be a big help too.
HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE
Ok let me share you how they could bring me a win here. I pick this battle for reference.
This is an interesting battle, there are three things that we need to see why it is interesting. The first thing is that the ruleset prohibited the armor, so all damage from the earth quake would not be covered any from the armor. The second thing is that both of us prefer to play defensively. We do not build up damages, we use units that have high health and healing ability.
The third and the last one is the funniest one. Both my opponent and I just made a same mistake. Our second units relied on the armor and it looked both of us forgot about it LoL. I will not discuss the battle in detail, you can see it for yourself by clicking the image above but allow me to show you some decisive point in that battle:
- The first round is very one sided, they have got us badly and it looks like my team is going to lose this battle badly
- The second round is the same, they are beating us badly. At the start of 3rd round, it is already 3 vs 6 condition, my team is outnumbered and they seem to get everything work well based on their plan.
- However until the last round, which is round 7... the last 3 units are unbeatable. In the end we win this battle.
The double heal that keeps replenishing my Meriput Magician health point is the key winning point here. +4 health point seems more than enough to keep her alive and wait till my opponent are dead from the earthquake.
My opponent meta is bad, but not that bad actually. I believe he has the same problem with me, it is the difficulty to get flying units. I bet he doesn't want to overpay renting the flying summoner too.
