Good afternoon my fellow Hivians.Happy last Friday of the month to you all. It's been a long journey all this while, but I'm glad we've triumphed over it.
It's my pleasure to welcome every one of you to my blog. You are very important to me.
Today, I want to admonish every one of us on what I caption being aware of false teachings and false prophecies.
This is something that is happening every day in our surroundings, and many of us have fallen victim.
In my little journey with God, I've been made to understand that false teachings do exist. And as believers, we're urged to be very sensitive to the spirit.
What are false teachings?
The word false teachings refers to the misconception or misinterpretation of the gospel in a way that deviates or differs from what it should be.
One thing we should know about false teachings is that the preacher would say it in a way that would suit his or her taste and not what suits God's taste.
The scriptures, or the Doctrine of Christ, were meant to be preached the way it was written. Nothing was meant to be added to it because it was written with the help of the holy spirit.
I'm going to back up my claims with this portion of the scriptures. Deuteronomy 18: 20_22.
This portion of the scriptures gives us an insight into what false prophets look like and how we, as believers, should detect when he's speaking through them as well as when they're speaking their own words.
In verse twenty-one, God told us that many prophets would come to us, claiming to deliver a message that was given to them by God to us. But when in fact, God didn't send them. God had promised to kill everyone who prophesies falsehood to the people.
In verses twenty-two and twenty-three, the bible goes on to explain to us that if we as believers are confused about this issue of prophecy, we should learn to observe those prophets closely when they speak.
It went further to tell us that if what he or she is prophesying is not what is written in the bible, and also if those things don't happen, we should know that he wasn't the one delivering the message to us.
Things are happening, and people have been led astray all in the name of prophecies. I'm not against prophecy, we do prophecy in our church.
Never move from one place to another to seek prophecy when you have the gift in you.
Yes, you can also be a prophet to yourself. If you've ever prayed to someone and the person got healed, that should tell you that you're also a prophet to yourself, and a big one at that.
If you know that you're a prophet or a pastor as I said, please don't paint the word of God with what is not good. Preach the word of God to those who are willing to hear. Say it the way it was written, so that you won't die for your mistakes.
In conclusion, let's be careful of false teachings and false prophets. They're everywhere. Stay where you know is good for you. Meditate on his word daily, and by so doing, you won't have any room for false teachings and false prophecies.
Thank you for your time.
Have a blessed day.
