So, it's happening again. Election denial groups and militias like American Patriots Three Percent (AP3) are preparing to scare voters, watching ballot boxes while pretending it’s about patriotism. They say it’s for “election integrity,” but let’s not act like this is just a harmless civic duty. It’s simply fearmongering.
Imagine trying to drop off your ballot while someone in tactical gear watches you and writes down your license plate number.
That’s intimidation, and it’s dangerous.
What really bothers me is how bold these groups are.
They share military-like fliers and give out “Rules of Engagement,” acting like they’re deploying soldiers, not volunteers. When AP3 talks about "protecting democracy," I think how ridiculous it is to call watching voters protection. What’s worse is that the authorities knew about this before, there were warnings in 2022, but not much changed. Now, the threat is even louder and more organized. I don’t understand why more isn’t being done.
When I was younger, I thought elections were boring, just another part of adult life. Now, they feel like battlegrounds. It seems like we crossed a line somewhere. How did we reach a point where armed militias feel they have the right to “guard” the ballot box?
The truth is, no one should be scared to vote. We can’t just sit back and watch this happen again in November. Will we?
