Hello, hivers!
For this post, I have another one of my model kit review videos. It's been several months since I posted one of these videos, so I figured that it was time for another one.
This model kit review is for the 1/48 scale Grumman J2F-2 Duck. This is a 1980s vintage model that was produced by Glencoe Models. The box says that the model is "approximately 1/48 scale", which I thought was interesting.
The Grumman Duck was a float plane that first appeared in 1933. The main float was integrated into the bottom of the fuselage instead of suspended below the fuselage on struts. It provided a bit of extra space inside the aircraft. The airplane was originally intended for utility and communication duties, but eventually was employed for many other uses such as sea rescue, target towing, photographic reconnaissance, and ambulance work. During WW2, the Duck was used by the Navy, the Marines, and the Coast Guard for scouting missions and air-sea rescue missions.
Here's the link to my video on youtube, the video is about 9 minutes and 45 seconds long.
Thanks for watching the video! I hope you found it interesting!
