Hello, hivers!
It's been a few months since I've posted a model kit review, but now that it's getting cold out, I'll be posting a few more of these videos.
This model kit review is for an older Airfix kit for a 1/144 scale Boeing Clipper, which was a pre WW2 passenger carrying "flying boat", as this type of aircraft was known as. The flying boat has a lower fuselage that is built in the shape of a boat hull. The airplane lands and takes off from the water.
In the 1920s and 30s, a number of different kinds of float planes and flying boats were developed for both military service, and for carrying passengers across large bodies of water.
The Boeing Clipper was developed to carry passengers across the Atlantic ocean in comfort and safety. If the plane developed mechanical trouble during flight, it could land on the ocean. The Boeing Clipper was built from 1938 to 1941. The aircraft had a standard flight range of 3500 miles, making it capable of crossing the Atlantic ocean.
Here is my video for this model kit review, I just uploaded it to youtube yesterday. The video is 9 and three quarter minutes long.
Thanks for checking out my video! I hope you found it interesting!
