Hi fellow Hiveians,
The other day I had fun building a sandcastle with some treasures we found!

Crustacean Castle
Beaches are definitely one of my favorite places to be! We have all sorts of great adventures at them and I have plenty of pictures to upload from some of our other adventures but this one here is one I don't get to do often enough: build a sandcastle!
I don't know why it never dawned on me when building a sandcastle and the walls and stuff but I saw someone the other day blow my mind! We have lots of rocks at the beaches where we go because the New Hampshire and Maine coastline are just littered with rocks everywhere. It makes for lots of great stuff, and we will certainly take a few rocks when we move but I didn't think to use them when building a sand castle!
Using the rocks to build the sandcastle was such a great idea because it speeds up the process considerably lol that is one of the reasons I think I don't get to build them much recently, because the little man is always looking to get out there and hunt for crabs instead of doing other things like walking for exercise or building castles with me.
I used a couple of the rocks around us to build a small wall and I used a larger rock to make the base of the castle here. It cut down my build time by easily 20 minutes which was great! We had spent some time earlier in the trip enjoying some crab hunting and we ended up finding some cool stuff but one that we would use for the castle!
I don't know if this lobster was something that just died or what but if the shell is the dark and blueish color that it is right now in the pictures here, typically it's not cooked. The cooking turns them pretty red/orange in color as many people I'm sure know. This one must have died naturally or gotten stuck in a trap and died that way. In any case though, we found the critters shell and turned him into a cool object in our castle here!
It would have been fun to add an extra bit of pizzazz to it and make the stuff look more like cannons or something as I intended but that's okay, I got to enjoy having the things there and take a couple cool pictures.
The shells look kind of like sentries or something on the castle walls! I didn't get to watch the fun happen as the tide came in and destroyed the castle, the little man wanted to go down the road a little bit and do some other stuff like visit the arcade so we left it alone but it was fun to turn a random object we found into a fun thing for a sandcastle.
Sandcastle building is one thing I will try to do a little bit more of while the summer lasts! Before long it won't be beach season much anymore but we will probably keep going to the beach through October at least. If there's crabs and stuff to catch, we will be there to play around in it all lol
