Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to chat a little bit about how important it is to get adequate amounts of sleep!

Refocusing On Sleep
One thing is for sure, lately I haven't been feeling as good as I could be! I've been trying to figure out various things that I can do to help get some stuff back into the swing of things. One of the ways that I've really been suffering is that I haven't been focusing on getting the proper sleep!
Over the past 2 or 3 weeks, I've really trying to get in bed by 10 or 1015 every night! It doesn't always work out, because there are a number of things that I would like to be doing but I'm trying to make a commitment to myself to get back into the habit of getting more sleep! Since I've been a young kid, sleep has always been really important for me, moreso than other people I think lol. I love sleeping 10 hours if I can get it! :D
Sadly one of the things that was a pretty big factor in my lack of sleep is my activity on Hive. I've had to quit Splinterlands because it was cutting into the more important Hive time once again and I can't have that shit LOL I was neglecting the engagement on my posts, visiting other people's posts and keeping up with my Rant community duties. I do enjoy Splinterlands and wonder if I will be able to get back into the game on any real type of level again in the future besides just doing some investments in the various editions coming out, but I had to definitely decide that my health and my family was more important than playing a game! With the lack of sleep, I was unfortunately getting a little testy at some points with people around me lol and I didn't have any good excuse as to why I was being a little prick! I knew that was when it was time for a change.
I think my body takes a few weeks to get back into the swing of things when it comes to sleep, and this time is no different. I'm able to sleep more soundly which is important, as that translates into various other improvements such as better output for work and more energy for my son, who has a seemingly endless supply of the stuff lol. Little boys are wild, that's for sure! I'm thinking that it should be another week or so before I can really feel the full effects of what getting back into a more routine and normal sleep pattern is going to be. There will certainly be interruptions to that sleep pattern but I think I'll be able to manage that overall better if I can keep it in good shape on either side of the abnormality. I know that I've definitely felt better at work with getting more sleep, so that right there is a solid improvement! Less need for copious amounts of coffee to keep my attention on the tasks at hand lol. I don't like a medication crutch that's for sure!
If there would be one thing that seems odd to me, is that the summertime I feel is harder to sleep in! I am a huge fan of summertime that's for sure, but with summer, and the sun being above the horizon for so much longer, there gets to be times when I wake up at the crack of dawn, quite literally LOL and then I have a hard time getting back to sleep because I've already seen the light. Damn, well I guess that's really not that bad, since I'll be getting an earlier bedtime. Less damage to wake up a little early if I'm in bed early that's for sure :D
Who else is trying to prioritize sleep these days?!
