Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to talk about how my computer was making me nervous the other day!

Technology Hiccups
I am nervous about my computer right now.. hahaha
I am thankfully pretty familiar with computers and how all of that stuff works. It's been a part of my life for many decades now, and more than just opening a laptop or computer screen and clicking on a few things. I am pretty skilled at manipulating things when it comes to computers and that's really served me well over that time.
I am currently experiencing some issues with my laptop and I am nervous that it could have some negative consequences!
I didn't even choose the correct image for this post because things weren't working right. Normally I would brush it off as something annoying but it happened a few times in the last few minutes. I am hoping that I don't have to get another hard drive, as that would really suck. It would also force me to rip off the bandaid and get my Linux operating system up and running that I've been procrastinating on for a while now.. I am going to throw a few other random pictures on the post here, so ignore me if I pick some stupid shit lol
I was experiencing some weird issues when I was looking for some photos I wanted to use in a post. I am not entirely sure what happened to the damn things, as they were not in the folder I normally put them. It's not a huge issue to get the things off the camera SD card that they came from, but it's more of the fact that my computer was having weird screen refresh issues. It wasn't updating the previews of the photos that were in the list which is abnormal.
I am trying to write some posts on a night that I have some good time and motivation, so I am not going to reboot YET but that's the plan once I get a few more things written here.
I think it's fascinating, and a testament to how important and interconnected this technology is in our lives. When I was a kid we had none of this shit, but we do have it now. It's one of those things where if we have it great, if we don't have it well that really sucks, but at the end of the day we would survive.
I also am glad that I have the means and the ability to try and work through the potential problem. If it's just a hard drive issue, I can swap out the hard drive with a new one. I could also try and reformat the thing entirely to see if that would work, but that sometimes doesn't work with a used hard drive. Not everybody has the ability to do those types of things, and it's okay but it kind of confuses me considering how long we've had computers, and how integral they've become in our lives. I am surprised people don't have more than a basic understanding of the things!
I guess that also goes to just human nature, in the end. We are interested in what we are. I may be good with computers but I am pretty terrible when it comes to mixing chemicals in a lab to come up with a compound that could cure baldness. Priorities, I guess?
Whatever comes of the laptop issues I'm having.. I hope it's nothing and a good old fashioned reboot addresses it!
What about you, do you have some technology issues and have the ability to fix them yourself? Let me know in the comments!
