A few months ago I posted about my new 11”iPad Pro M1 and to date its been a stunning bit of tech certainly the best I pad I have ever owned since they came out and I have had a few different ones.
Well Hivers I was up in Exeter the other day and as you can now get into the Apple shop without an appointment I decided it was time to look at the Apple magic keyboard. So in I went.
And after a bit of a play I picked one up, they are expensive but they do integrate very well with the Pro and connects instantly unlike my 3rd party case and keyboard. The backlit keys have a nice feel and travel.
The hinge system is well thought out and gives a great viewing angle for typing and messages.
Really great for face time with @scubahead.
And protects the iPad very well when closed and does lock quite firmly so great for travelling.
The integrated USB C charge point is a cool feature as it frees up the port on the iPad for accessory’s. I still think the USB C port on the iPad is its best feature and a hell of a longtime coming from Apple.
The trackpad is really cool and very smooth and the smart pointer is easy to follow as it light on dark backgrounds and dark on light backgrounds it also disappears when your not using the trackpad.
So are there any down sides to this great bit of Tech well the price for on thing at £279 I eye watering compared to my 3rd party case and keyboard which was about £20 . The only real issue I have with it is it doesn’t swivel so its always in landscape which is a pain with a couple of Apps I have that don’t automatically rotate.
So all in all I’m very happy and haven’t used my Mac Air for about 2 months now so the iPad Pro has turned in to a great laptop replacement. It’s light very quick and with the new Magic keyboard very usable.
All for now Hivers time for a coffee.
