Hello, everyone! Abby's back and I welcome you to my sphere. In this blog, I present to you a new art blog, walking you through my collection of art. My fingertips have been missing the touch of my paintbrushes and paints recently, but I cannot bring myself to create one for now, not yet. So here I am, rather than actually painting something, allow me to sit and yap about my older art pieces.
THE UNIVERSE IN THE EYE
This painting was painted with gouache on my sketchbook. And I think it resonates a lot to what they say that our eyes see through one's soul and that it captures the beauty of the world.
THV
This second piece was a quick doodle of my love, Tae Hyung, from BTS. I suck at human anatomy so you can probably notice that there are some weird angles in the drawing, but you know we gotta let loose ourselves and just draw without any pressure. It may not turn out the best, but it captures the version of artist you are in that exact moment.
WAVES
One of the fun subjects that are quite complicated to paint are waves. Laying the base color of the water was the easy part, while adding the details that will serve as the waves was a piece of work, yet still it could be therapeutic as well. The little white scribblings may look silly at first, but once it's completed, you'll clearly see that everything worked well. Just like how this painting turned out to be.
THE PUDDLE
What could go wrong when painting nature? We just gotta let those silly accidents and call it happy little ones like how Bob Ross does. This is one of the paintings I did with reference which did not exactly turned out just like how the photo does, but I ain't mad about it.
FAV SPREAD
Now, these page is one of my most favorite spread in the sketchbook. Using my gouache paints, I did my best in trying to paint loosely as I can. These two pieces are completely different, but at the same time it perfectly compliments each other.
LOLLI
This painting was painted realistically, capturing a 3D effect to it. The imperfection on its strokes added to the painting's personality which I really liked.
ROSE 'N DAISIES
Roses and Daisies are my favorite flowers. The strong characteristic of a rose and the dainty-soft features of the daisies, I guess speak a lot about my personality. For this piece, I attempted to make it way more loose than the first painting. It is goal is not to create a realistic painting, but rather it is a piece wherein I tried to incorporate the impressionistic technique of painting. At first, I really thought the rose was becoming hopeless, but it turned out fine. All that was needed to do was to trust the process.
GRAPES
This still life painting of grapes 🍇 wasn't the best one. I know I can do better than these. If you look closely at the details you can probably noticed how I tried adding more texture to the piece. I experiment a lot when it comes to my painting style, trying to discover who I really am as an artist. Personally, I really wanted to achieve the impressionistic techniques in painting, like how the masters does their paintings in the past.
Kocho Shinubo 🦋
If you are a fan of anime, I guess you have a bit of an idea of who this person is. This is Shinubo from Kimetsu no Yaiba. She is one of the Hashiras. Instead of painting her in an anime style, I tried to paint her realistically. I haven't done much of portrait paintings because I actually find it more complicated than painting landscapes. So this one was just a little study, to see how much I can do so at that extent. I honestly doubt I could still to this painting right now.
Anyway, that's it! Those where all of the paintings for this ARTchive. I hope you had a good look at each work. Which one is your favorite? Tell me in the comments, I would like to know your thoughts. ^^
Talk to you again, my friends.
