Hi guys this is my first post on the art community.
I’ve painted a moody night in the woods under the soft glow of the moonlight. This picture makes me calm and easy. It paints a picture of an enchanting night and moves us in.
Here’s a walkthrough the process
I’ve painted this with hi I gouache paints on a 300 gsm paper, mostly with a 0.4 round brush.
Paint the background from a light blue to dark blue gradient with a flat brush. Unify the blues with a bit of green for turquoise colour.
Start by painting the trees in the background with a light turquoise colour.
- Paint the overlapping trees with a dark turquoise.
- Paint the trees in the front with navy blue and paint the details such as branches an leaves.
- Paint the bushes and path in the front with dark blue colours. Blend with your fingers.
- Add highlights with a light colour and add the details with a white pencil.
I loved painting this one. It taught me a lot about lights and blues and shadows.
Hope you all appreciate this one.
Please comment on what you think about this painting.
Have you ever tried gouache before?
