When I was a child, I used to believe that true talent was creating as much of a likeness to the original as possible. We would have colouring competitions at my dance studio, and I would sneer at the pictures that I deemed "unworthy." After all, who would make the Easter Bunny GREEN?! 😮
I now realize that true talent is being able to leave your own mark, your own style, on the artwork.
We recently bought our children a Pokémon coloring book. Of course, it wasn't long before my daughter asked me if I would color with them, and I did!
I found myself trying to stay as true to the original as possible. I was desperately trying to recall the color combinations -- did Pikachu have orange?! 😱 Of course, that wasn't any fun...
So, as opposed to trying to wrack my brain for combinations, I decided to just go with the flow! I made up my own Pokémon! 😂

"In battle, it flaps its wings at high speed to release highly toxic dust into the air. It has a superior ability to search for delicious honey from flowers. It can even search out, extract, and carry honey from flowers that are blooming over six miles from its nest."

This is the Butterfree evolution, consisting of Caterpie, Metapod, and Butterfree. I don't pay attention to none of that 1,000 Pokémon bullshit -- I'm part of the original 151 generation 😄
So, because it's been so long, you may have a bit of trouble remembering the original designs. Here they are...:
Honestly, prefer mine a lot more 😍 I love the idea of autumn/Halloween Butterfree. From this perspective, the possibilities are limitless! You could make a green Butterfree, or red could be pretty neat, a Valentine one 🥰
