Hi everyone, today I bring you my specialty, a dragon 🐉, to be specific to Shin-Lo from Splinterlands, for this week's art contest.
This time I went for the easy rute, I've been drawing dragons for years because they are my favorite mythological creatures, and it turns out that Splinterland has a good repertoire of these, I think you can imagine what drawings I'll do for a few months XD.
Hola a todos, hoy les hoy les traigo mi especialidad, un dragón 🐉, para ser especificos a Shin-Lo de Splinterlands, para el concurso de arte de esta semana.
Esta vez me fui a lo seguro, llevo años dibujando dragones ya que son mis criaturas mitológicas favoritas, y resulta que Splinterland tiene un buen repertorio de estos, creo que ya imaginaran que dibujos haré por unos cuantos meses XD.
Process | Proceso
As always I started with the pencil drawing.
Como siempre inicié con el dibuo a lapiz.
I made the lines with the linework layer and corrected different mistakes I made in the pencil sketch.
Hice las líneas con la capa de linework y corregí diferentes errores que cometí en el boceto a lápiz.
To make this drawing I used a bristle brush, which I've grown fond of since my previous drawing and using official image as a reference, I took the main colors.
Para hacer este dibujo usé un pincel de cerdas, el cual le he agarrado cariño desde mi dibujo anterior y usando la imagen oficial como referencia tomé los colores principales.
With the general shape done I started to do the some details and the shading
Con la forma general hecha empecé a hacer algunos detalles y la sombra.
Making the shadow of this drawing cost me more than I expecte, and I needed help from a cable, that I had to put in the light, to have a better idea of how it behaved, thanks for the idea @fabiyamada. 😄
Hacer la sombra de esta dibujo me costó mucho más de lo que esperaba, y necesité ayuda de un cable, que tuve que poner a la luz, para tener mejor idea de cómo comportaba, gracias por la idea @fabiyamada. 😉
Then I added highlight and more details of belly and eyes.
Luego agregué las luces, y más detalles de la panza y los ojos.
Now Shin-Lo it's ready, then it's time to make the background.
Con Shin-Lo listo ahora toca hacer el fondo.

Using these clouds as inspiration, I designed my clouds.
Usando de inspiracion estas nubes, diseñé las mías.
They don't look good, do they? But with a blur brush and a lot of patience I made them match Shin's aesthetics, on the other hand, I used the gradient tool with a darker blue for the background.
No se ven muy bien, ¿verdad? Pero con un el pincel de difuminado y mucha paciencia hice que pegaran más con la estética de Shin, por otra parte, use la herramienta de degradado con un azul más oscuro para el fondo.
Si hubiera subido el dibujo ayer, como tenía planeado, este sería el fondo final, pero al verlo hoy no me gustó, así que copié y modifiqué las nubes para que llenaran mas espacio y decidí hacer el degradado con el pincel.
Then, I add Shin-Lo and voila.
Entonces, se agrega Shin-Lo y voila.
Para hacer este dibujo usé el programa de Paint Tool Sai2 y usé esta configuracion de pinceles, y modifiqué los valores de Density, blending, dilution y persistence a conveniencia.
