This is my first time posting one of my drawings, so it's time to mention that I love drawing, for me it's more than a hobby since it helps me relax, it fills me with joy every time I finish a new drawing, it leaves an amazing feeling in my whole being. Although I know that I still have a lot to learn and improve, but practice makes perfect.
Something curious is that when I was a child I felt that I didn't even have a talent in the artistic area, it was from my 18 years that I dedicated myself to practice and learn to draw, because at that time I was going through a bad time and I needed to dedicate myself to something that would help me find some peace, and I found that in drawing 💖
In this opportunity I will show you the process of my drawing of the character Manjiro Sano, better known as Mikey, from the anime Tokyo Revengers. This anime is based on Japanese motorcycle gangs, where Mikey is one of the main characters of the anime (I would say that even a little more important than the main character), he is the leader and one of the founding members of the gang known as "Tokyo Manji", I feel that he is a sun and all the others are planets revolving around him. This anime has several characters that I love, I would like to draw them all, but let's start with the leader.

Esta es mi primera vez publicando uno de mis dibujos, así que es el momento de mencionar que adoro dibujar, para mí es más que un pasatiempo dado que me ayuda a relajarme, me llena de alegría cada vez que termino un nuevo dibujo, deja una sensación increíble en todo mi ser. Aunque sé que todavía me falta mucho por aprender y mejorar, pero la práctica hace al maestro.
Algo curioso es que cuando era niña sentía que no tenía ni un talento en el área artística, fue a partir de mis 18 años en que me dediqué a practicar y aprender a dibujar, porque en esa época estaba pasando por un mal momento y necesitaba dedicarme a algo que me ayudara a encontrar un poco de paz, y eso lo encontré en el dibujo 💖
En esta oportunidad les mostraré el proceso de mi dibujo del personaje de Manjiro Sano, más conocido como Mikey, del anime de Tokyo Revengers. Este anime está basado en las pandillas japonesas de motociclistas, donde Mikey es uno de los principales personajes del anime (yo diría que hasta un poco más importante que el protagonista), es líder y uno de los miembros fundadores de la pandilla conocida como “Tokyo Manji”, siento que él es un sol y todos los demás son planetas girando a su alrededor. Este anime cuenta con varios personajes que me encantan, quisiera dibujarlos a todos, pero empecemos con el líder.

The difficulty of anime style drawings is in the details, because any minimal thing (a stripe, a shadow, etc) can totally change the character. That's why before making any anime drawing I look for many photos of the character, with different expressions or poses, from different angles, I try to record the essence and the characteristic features of that character, and then I put all that knowledge into a single drawing.
I drew the different stages of Mikey: childhood, adolescence and adulthood.
The most complicated was the adult Mikey, at first he looked like a delinquent version of Armin (Attack on Titan), I tried to draw both eyes, but it didn't look the way I wanted, so I decided to cover half of his face with his hair (this was in the sixth attempt, more or less). Besides, I wanted that expression of seriousness, mystery and pain, because of all the weight that the adult Mikey carries.
The teenage version, the one we see mainly in the anime, I wanted to make it smiling and cheerful, to make that difference that Mikey had not yet lost his way, however, it didn't fit me well either, so it ended up being a moderately smiling Mikey.
Note from Lys: draw the facial features first before the hair. For some reason, that detail helps me to make the drawing as close to the character as possible, because in anime the expressions are everything, they're amazing. The details of the face are my favorite thing about the drawings, what gives that special touch, but to be honest it's what causes me the most problems when drawing.

La dificultad de los dibujos estilo anime está en los detalles, porque cualquier mínima cosa (una raya, una sombra, etc) puede cambiar totalmente al personaje. Por eso antes de hacer cualquier dibujo de anime busco muchas fotos del personaje, con diferentes expresiones o poses, desde distintos ángulos, trato de grabarme la esencia y los rasgos característicos de dicho personaje, y luego uno todo ese conocimiento en un solo dibujo.
Dibujé las distintas etapas de Mikey: infancia, adolescencia y adultez.
El más complicado fue el Mikey adulto, al principio parecía una versión delincuente de Armin (Attack on Titan), traté de dibujar ambos ojos, pero no quedaba como yo quería, así que tomé la decisión de taparle la mitad del rostro con el cabello (esto fue en el sexto intento, más o menos). Además, quería esa expresión de seriedad, misterio y dolor, por todo el peso que carga el Mikey adulto.
La versión adolescente, la que vemos principalmente en el anime, quería hacerla sonriente y alegre, para marcar esa diferencia de que Mikey todavía no había perdido su camino, sin embargo, tampoco me quedaba bien, así que terminó siendo un Mikey medianamente sonriente.
Nota de Lys: dibujar primero los rasgos de la cara antes que el cabello. Por alguna razón, ese detalle me ayuda que el dibujo sea lo más parecido al personaje, porque en el anime las expresiones lo son todo, son increíbles. Los detalles de la cara son mi cosa favorita de los dibujos, lo que da ese toque especial, pero siendo sincera es lo que me causa más problemas al dibujar.

Something characteristic of the Tokyo Revengers drawing are the noses, because they are very pointed, and the hairs are dense, they have many details (maybe because they are teenagers and have tousled hair, I don't know).
Note from Lys: When you feel that your sketch is "perfect", it is as you want it to be, that will be the moment to make the lineart (here I did it with a gel pen), but don't leave "details to be accommodated" for the lineart because you can make a mistake (as it happened to me) and it is almost impossible to fix that mistake. Algo característico del dibujo de Tokyo Revengers son las narices, porque son muy puntiagudas, y los cabellos son densos, tienen muchos detalles (quizás porque son adolescentes y tienen el cabello alborotado, no lo sé)
Nota de Lys: Cuando sientas que tu boceto está “perfecto”, está tal como quieres que sea, ese será el momento de realizar el lineart (aquí lo hice con un lapicero a gel), pero no dejes “detalles por acomodar” para el lineart porque te puedes equivocar (como me pasó a mí) y es casi imposible remendar ese error. Si encuentran donde me equivoqué, me lo dicen en los comentarios, no hay problema, la idea es practicar y mejorar😉

And that's it! I know it's not an impressive drawing, but the result left me happy. I wanted to draw him for a long time because, as I already mentioned, he is one of my favorite anime characters 🥺 and, therefore, I deserved to have his drawing stuck on the wall of my room.
