When I was drawing this particular portrait, I suspected that this guy might be a popular figure or a politician but I didn’t know which and never found out but drew it anyway. The plan was to omit the glasses and have his face just like that but when I looked and saw that he looked weird, I tried a clean dash across the paper and my bianyo gave me the most marvelous effect. This my friends was the reason I kept the glasses and why this work is fantastic. It brings back old memories.
