He vuelto a participar en otro reto mensual del Streamer de Twitch ArcanistaDraws donde el tema se nos hizo fuerte para muchos participantes:

"El reto: crear algo inspirado en el universo de Studio Ghibli, o diseñar tu propia Ghiblisona (un personaje que podría existir dentro de ese mundo).

🎨 Puedes hacer un dibujo, un boceto, un collage, una escultura, un personaje, una criatura, un objeto, una escena, un fondo... lo que sea."

Teníamos mucho tiempo para hacerlo, porque en lo que finalizó el reto del mes anterior ya conocimos de inmediato el de mes siguiente. Sin embargo, fueron pasando las semanas y no conseguía la creatividad (O "la musa" como le dicen) necesaria para iniciar a dibujar con este tema y lo fui posponiendo hasta llegado el día de hoy 31 de Julio (fecha límite para participar al reto)

Creo que lo que me bloqueaba tanto era el hecho de hacer algo queriendo imitar el estilo de otra persona, ya que me sentia que si no soy tan bueno con mi estilo, menos tratando de llegar al estilo de otro con tanto renombre en el Anime.

Así que bueno, pensé en dibujar a mi OC con un personaje que tuviese algo en común con él, y me acordé de Cabeza de nabo, un espantapájaros con un atuendo de ropa elegante desgastado y que lleva puesto un sombrero de copa roto de la película El increíble castillo vagabundo.

Mi oc estaría regalando el sombrero viejo para que terminara su conjunto y como mi estilo es más yendo al chibi donde los personajes son chiquitos, pues, para alcanzar al personaje, le hice una sillas y unos libros para que consiguiera altura con la intensión de que le pusiese el sombrero.

I have once again participated in another monthly challenge from Twitch streamer ArcanistaDraws, where the theme proved difficult for many participants:

"The challenge: create something inspired by the Studio Ghibli universe, or design your own Ghiblisona (a character that could exist within that world).

🎨 You can make a drawing, a sketch, a collage, a sculpture, a character, a creature, an object, a scene, a background... anything."

We had a lot of time to do it, because as soon as last month's challenge ended, we immediately knew what the next month's challenge would be. However, the weeks went by and I couldn't find the creativity I needed to start drawing on this theme, so I kept putting it off until today, July 31 (the deadline for participating in the challenge).

I think what was blocking me so much was the fact that I was trying to imitate someone else's style, because I felt that if I'm not that good with my own style, I'm even less good at trying to achieve the style of someone else who is so renowned in anime.

So, I thought about drawing my OC with a character that had something in common with him, and I remembered Turnip Head, a scarecrow with worn-out elegant clothes and a broken top hat from the movie Howl no Ugoku Shiro.

My OC would be giving away the old hat to complete his outfit, and since my style is more chibi, where the characters are small, I made him some chairs and books to give him height so he could reach the character and put the hat on him.

Como la idea es que tuviese ese sensación de Estudio Ghibli por algún lado, se lo apliqué al rostro, ya que estuve pensando en si hacer algún fondo más allá del cielo azulado y las nubes, como en la imagen de referencia o tratar de que los colores no se vieran tan saturados como me gusta colorear para suavisarlos un poco más, pero no tenía tiempo, me quedaban cerca de 5 horas antes de que Arcanista iniciara con la revisión de los participantes.

Curiosamente, cuando terminé yo era el tercero en participar, no habían muchos participando a esa hora que publiqué pero en lo que inició el reto, llegaron más participantes a colocar sus obras, varios le comentaron que lo hicieron tarde e hicieron lo que pudieron a lo "Speedrunning" durante este mismo día o incluso que le tomaron dos días para tenerlo listo.

Since the idea was to give it that Studio Ghibli feel, I applied it to the face, as I was thinking about whether to add a background beyond the blue sky and clouds, as in the reference image, or try to make the colors less saturated than I usually like to color them, to soften them a little more. but I didn't have time. I had about five hours left before Arcanista started reviewing the participants.

Interestingly, when I finished, I was the third person to participate. There weren't many participants when I posted my drawing, but when the first participant's review began, more participants arrived to submit their drawings. Several commented that they did it late and did what they could in “speedrunning” mode on the same day, or even that it took them two days to prepare it.
