Family Taboo
Sometimes I wonder what the secret life of my grandparents would be like.
The sexual revolution of the 1960s changes the way two people get married. Now it would seem incredible to us, but, before that revolution, people married, not so much for love, as for social convenience.
My grandfather, a good observer of life, used to say:
(Marriage of love, good at night and a nightmare during the day)
At that time, men used to maintain relationships with at least two women: the wife who projected their social representation, that is, the one chosen to present herself to the world as a couple, and the mistresses.
The purpose of the mistresses was to give the man a space of intimacy and desire.
Divorce was rare and in many countries it was not even legislated. After all, how important was it, if the relationship was one of convenience.
Those women normally, they were maintained by the man, who paid their expenses and rented a small apartment.
It was quite common that, when one of these men died, the revelation of these secrets appeared in the testamentary, causing very literary scandals.
The dynamics of desire have not changed much in these years: An attractive woman continues to receive more offers for her body than for her head, and I honestly do not see that this will change in the next few centuries.
I hope you like it.
Have a good week and if you have a good day, frame it.
regards,
Javier
