Can you spot the pattern over a sampling of the past 6 months of my artwork? In the course of this period (which has flown by so quickly), I have drawn and painted more artworks than I care to count. Yet in this sampling of just 6 of those pieces, a few constants emerge that represent my entire body of work (in most cases).
- I rely on lines (as opposed to heavily blended colors and non-linear shapes).
- I keep themes positive (as in upbeat).
These are not hard and fast rules, but they are the elements of art that I prefer. Thinking back over my multi-decade career, I can see this pattern as typically true throughout the past 35 years at least. Indeed, I am positive and linear.
