-Rabindranath Tagore,
Collected Poems and Plays of Rabindranath Tagore
Inspiration -
A one-man army, who still has the power to melt hearts and provide shelter for those who need it, just by words. His works are widespread and act as a shield to many. We still, often refer to him and his wise words, in various topics, may it be regular events or occasional. Nothing about Rabindranath Tagore can be said in simple words, therefore, I am not even planning to. Being a Bangladeshi, we often refer to him, his knowledge and that is our gift, that we are able to call him our own.
Art Type -
Sketch Art
Materials Used -
• Sketchbook
• Sketch pen
• Hatching based portrait
• Direction of the light arrangement
• Tissue paper
Tips -
• Sketching with a pencil can be imagination-based or implication based
• Know your pencil-type before applying
• I have used pen and tried using repetitive hatching style
• I have used reference, but it is modified
• Reality and imagination can always coexist if you want to
• Keep one subject and let the rest complement it
• Avoid excessive ink-pen or gel pen
• Know the different forms you can create, I have implied hatching
• Play with darkness and light according to the mood of the painting, or direction of light
• Plan ahead how you’ll project your edges, I used all four edges; thin, hard, lost & undefined
• Edges determine your value of the art; it plays a major role in sketching
• Shadow creation syncs with form creation and texture, defining depths, highs, and lows
• To show variation and depths, deep and thick hatching can differ from thin and distant hatching
