I'm at the stage where I'm just trying all the brushes on ibis paint to be able to know which ones I like best or how I want to use them. I feel that the tools we use largely determine the result and new direction we paint in. This piece is internationally rough looking and experimental. It was a case of just putting down strokes and a dash of color here and there and playing with brushes that came with their varied effects.
Here the finished piece
I used so many brushes like I've said. Some of them were the alcohol based marker for the skin, the clouds brush marker for the clouds obviously :) and I used a watercolor brush for the dress. I really love the earrings here because it was just done after using a brush that created the impressionist effect. I then used the liquify tool to enlarge it and it surprising turned into something with so much texture. I hope I can replicate it in future drawings somehow.
So I started with a sketch as always
And now I will just share the various stages of my painting and you will hopefully be able to notice when I changed something because I thought it didn't work out the way I had in mind.
Cheers!
