Good evening my dear people, happy Wednesday to all and welcome once again to my art blog, today I come to share my last entry for the #Splinterlands weekly dynamic and I decided to do something related to the theme of ships or crews; and that is why I chose the letter from (Captain Katie), to which I printed as much as possible my own style of drawing and especially coloring. At first, when I saw the letter, the idea of drawing her occurred to me because of the theme that she looked like a captain of ships, but reading and inquiring more into her history I found that it is even more interesting, our captain is in charge of commanding a aircraft through the skies of Khymeria; It should be noted that Katie is the daughter of a great captain who decades ago gave her life to save hers, and since then Katie has lived entirely to honor her father:
Muy buenas noches mi querida gente, feliz miércoles para todos y sean bienvenidos una vez mas a mi blog de arte, hoy les vengo a compartir mi última entrada para la dinámica semanal de #Splinterlands y decidí hacer algo relacionado con la temática de los barcos o tripulaciones; y es por ello que elegí la carta de (Captain Katie), a la cual le imprimí lo más posible mi estilo propio de dibujo y sobre todo de coloreado. En un comienzo cuando vi la carta se me ocurrió la idea de dibujarla por la temática de que parecía una capitana de barcos, pero leyendo e indagando más en su historia me topé con que es aún más interesante, nuestra capitana es la encargada de comandar una aeronave por los cielos de Khymeria; cabe destacar que Katie es la hija de un gran capitán el cual décadas atrás dio su vida para salvar la suya, y desde entonces Katie ha vivido enteramente para hacer honor a su padre:
The first thing when starting to create my drawing was to try some structures for the sketch, I tried a couple of poses and body complexions until I got to this one in which (Captain Katie) was on the edge of her aircraft, which I imagined like some kind of flying pirate ship, and her near the railings of the ship; My idea with this character is that she would look slightly older than the one on the card, I decided to draw her with an approximate age of 30 to 35 years to give her a slightly more experienced bearing and appearance as a captain. The coloring was quite easy to choose, I had a good color palette from a drawing I did a couple of weeks ago and I decided to use a lot of those colors for this character, the skin was intended to be quite light and therefore I used a brown sandy as base; For the base of the clothes, I played a little and also varied the tones of red wine and electric blue.
Lo primero a la hora de comenzar a crear mi dibujo fue probar algunas estructuras para el boceto, probé un par de poses y complexiones corporales hasta que llegue a esta en la cual la (Captain Katie) estuviera al borde de su aeronave, la cual imagine como una especie de barco pirata volador, y ella cerca de las barandas del barco; mi idea con este personaje es que tomara una apariencia ligeramente mayor a la de la carta, decidí dibujarla con una edad aproximada de 30 a 35 años para darle un porte y un apariencia un poco más experimentada como capitana. El coloreado fue bastante sencillo de elegir, tenia una buena paleta de colores de un dibujo que realice hace par de semanas atrás y decidí usar muchos de esos colores para este personaje, la piel tenia intensión de que fuese bastante clara y por ello use un marrón arenoso como base; para la base de la ropa juegue un poco y varié también los tonos vino tinto y azul eléctrico.
For this character I decided to vary a bit and not use the airbrush for the volume, instead I used a square tip brush at a fairly low opacity to get a little more softness, I made strokes with a little more geometric shapes and a little more elongated for build a good volume in the nose, eyelids, jaw and especially in the arms; then with the hyssop brush he slightly blurred the lines previously made and added new ones with the thick-tipped brush. I repeated the blending process at least 3 times and added deep shadows and occlusion shadows for the areas where natural light does not reach, thus achieving a slightly more realistic skin; then continue painting the face and here I leaned towards painting the lips in a slight pink color to create a bit of flesh and volume on the lips; and for the eyes I went towards a very intense navy blue tone with a lot of shine and lighting on the edge of the eyeball.
Para este personaje decidí variar un poco y no usar el aerógrafo para el volumen, en su lugar usé un pincel de punta cuadrada a bastante baja opacidad para conseguir un poco más de suavidad, hice trazos con formas un poco más geométricas y algo más alargadas para construir un buen volumen en la nariz, parpados, mandíbula y sobre todo en los brazos; luego con el pincel de hisopo fue difuminando levemente los trazos previamente hechos y agregando nuevos con el pincel de punta gruesa. Repetí el proceso de difuminado la menos 3 veces y añadí sombras profundas y sombras de oclusión para las zonas donde no llega la luz natural y así conseguí una piel un poco más realista; después continúe pintando el rostro y aquí me incliné por pintar los labios de un color rosado leve para ir creando un poco de carnosidad y volumen en los labios; y para los ojos me fui hacia un tono azul marino muy intenso con bastantes brillos e iluminación en el borde del globo ocular.
In the next step I dedicated myself to shaping the character's clothing, here my intention was to create a suit with quite mixed textures, for the lower part I painted a kind of blouse with material like old silk with light brown colors on its most; Then, in the upper part, I played a lot with the Vinotinto tones and with the reds to create a kind of shirt or nightgown with a thick and resistant texture. I started working on the belt at the same time along with the golden buckle and the sword that he wears on his waist (Captain Katie), for this part I tried to work to resemble the leather material as well as possible, with some detail of wear by antiquity.
En el siguiente paso me dedique a darle forma a la ropa del personaje, aquí me intención era la de crear un traje con texturas bastante mixtas, para la parte baja pinte una especie de blusa con material como de seda antigua con colores marrones claros en su mayoría; luego en la parte de más arriba jugué mucho con los tonos Vinotinto y con los rojos para crear una especie de camisa o camisón con una textura bastante gruesa y resistente. Comencé a trabajar de una misma vez el cinturón junto con la hebilla dorada y la espada que lleva en su cintura (Captain Katie), para esta parte me esforcé en trabajar para asemejar el material del cuero lo mejor posible, con cierto detalle de desgaste por antigüedad.
Then I continued with the painting of the hair where I used a lot of brown, yellow and especially orange, and used a greater number of brushes than in the other parts that I painted; The hair was a section where it took me a bit, this is because I don't have much experience painting hair in the form of clinejas or braids, but hey I did my best and I liked how that hairstyle turned out for this character. For the painting of the sword I varied the colors a lot and especially the textures since this weapon is composed of different metals, the chacha for example I painted it as if it were made of pure steel; and the part of the cuff I gave it a golden color with a lot of yellow and white, so that it had a slightly more elegant touch.
Luego seguí con el pintado del cabello donde utilice mucho color marrón, amarillo y sobre todo anaranjado, y use una mayor cantidad de pinceles que en las demás partes que pinte; el cabello fue un apartado donde me demore un poco, esto debido a que no tengo mucha experiencia pintando pelo en forma de clinejas o trenzas, pero bueno puse mi mejor esfuerzo y me ha gustado como quedo ese estilo de peinado para este personaje. Para el pintado de la espada varié mucho los colores y sobre todo las texturas ya que esta arma esta compuesta por diferentes metales, la chacha por ejemplo la pinte como si estuviera hecha de acero puro; y la parte del puño le di un color dorado con mucho amarillo y blanco, para que tuviera un toque un poco más elegante.
For the final part of my illustration I concentrated on creating the area where the flying ship would be standing (Captain Katie), I decided to create a kind of high ledge near where the aircraft's rudder is, I did this by mixing the colors a bit browns, red and a bit of orange to create the railing of the boat with a texture and appearance as similar to wood as possible; I also gave some certain details of cracks and fissures to the wood so that it would have a better finish. Lastly, I painted a large blanket of clouds in the far background to give the impression that The Flying Ship of the Great (Captain Katie) is soaring through the blue Khymerian skies as the late dear father once did. her.
Para la parte final de mi ilustración me concentren en crear la zona del barco volador donde estaría parada (Captain Katie), decidí crear como una especie de cornisa alta cerca de donde esta el timón de la aeronave, esto lo hice mezclando un poco los colores marrones, rojo y un poco de naranja para crear la baranda del barco con una textura y apariencia lo mas parecida posible a la madera; le di también algunos ciertos detalles de grietas y fisuras a la madera para que tuviera un mejor acabado. Por último, pinte un gran manto de nubes en la parte mas lejana del fondo para dar la impresión de que El barco Volador de la gran (Captain Katie) se encuentra surcando los cielos azules Khymeria como en una época lo hacia su difunto y querido padre.
