Okay pardon me... I couldn't get his full name. I can't really remember the last time I did very fair characters. I think ever since I began more detailed shading I haven't. So that's about two years. What scares me off is the appropriate colour palette but I just decided to go for it this time. Before I commenced, I went online for appropriate palettes but I couldn't use any so I just had to rely on my own discretion.
What inspired the choice of this picture? Well, I guess I randomly stumbled upon his profile and I found out his two most used pictures are actually cartoons and I found it cool. So I decided to make my own version. It was my chance at getting my palettes right and breaking the jinx - my last two white characters were disastrous... Really.
I looked for a clearer version of his image on his fb profile, I got this image and I started working with it. I expected it to be a tad bit easier than my regular works given that I would only be making the head but then I found out I had to be more conscious of the details since the head was going to be enlarged. It took about 7 hours to see this to completion.
So.. Hey @theycallmedan, this is for you.
- So I had to use infinite design for the hair highlights. It is the better software for more clean and neat 'pressure-pen-like' strokes. So this is when I just imported the strokes back to Autodesk for completion.
The hair base filling and the complexion too. It was a test colour and interestingly, I didn't later modify it.
The shading started coming out and it really started to get interesting from this point

What do you think is missing here? The highlights! You can compare it to the final picture to get how important the highlights are..
That's it! See you next time. Hope you love it.
