Hello Hive. It has been a while since I actually posted anything. Mostly because I stopped playing Splinterlands. Still love the game and wish it all the success in the world, just decided it was time to move on.
Figured I would do a little blog about what I'm doing now. A lot of life things have kept me busy but I'm back to a bit of a routine so trying to get on track for some personal projects. I used to post these things on other accounts that I had made specifically for their purposes but have decided it is not worth trying to maintain all of my accounts anymore. Which is kind of sad because I made some good contacts on those other accounts. I don't want to @ anyone and it has been so long they may not remember anyway.
I have two projects that my A.D.D. has me bouncing between at the moment. One is a fantasy world that I have been developing for over a decade. The other is a space themed game universe.
If anyone kept up with @mimerr or @chibititan in the past, that was me and my attempt to start a game studio. I was mostly working on a game called Titan Climber and it was a little too ambitious in the end. However, the characters and world in that game are actually just a small part of the fantasy world mentioned above and may show up in the next project.
My next attempt at making a product for this world will hopefully prove more viable. It will be a 2D hand drawn action platformer. I plan to do more blogs in the future about the progress, though it is kind of sad the Game Dev community seems to have been abandoned. I may still post them there anyway. Unless anyone has any suggestions for other communities?
Here is a bit of art I did in Krita a while back for this game. A character named Wu Gnar is part of the Houkong. They are Therians that borrow a lot of their lore from the Sun Wu Kong mythology. I'll leave it at that for now but like the Titan Climber game, this is a very small part of the hundreds of pages of lore I have set aside for this world.
The game itself is something I've wanted to make for a long time. I'm still working out some of the designs and mechanics but have broken it down into a small manageable goal that can be expanded into a much larger and more ambitious project should things pan out well.
Currently working on some basic animations. Hope to share some progress soon.
