Here again to announce the completion of second well fixed by hive blockchain. It was a week and some days when I announced the offline hive project whereby Hive has given life to people in etomi in Nigeria by repairing their water source. Furthermore, I appreciate all the support and comments for the publication.
Today it is great to announce the second hive project of well repair at the upper hill market in Etomi.
When Hive Blockchain repaired the first well, we realized that there are a lot of charges(load) on the well, and with the looks of things, the well serves the people in the new village layout more than the other side of the village because is close to them. and away from the other side of the people in the upper hill market in the village and this causes people from the other side to come from a distance with wheelbarrows to fetch water.
This water means a lot to people and it is not a good idea to suffer for the water. I have Once coming back from the football center at night around 11 pm, I don't expect to see people fetching water late, but when I get closer to the well I saw some people coming with wheelbarrows to fetch late. So what I'm trying to say is that if there is another borehole located close to them they won't have come with barrow at that hour of the day.
Water is life, water should not be far from our way of life.
So, I went to investigate and found out that there is another damaged well that probably serves the people from the upper hill market in the village earlier. This particular well has been there for over 7 years without being repaired, I am so ignorant because I don't think we can get water out of it even though we would like to get our hands on it.
So when I returned my report to @guiltyparties, I commented on how far off it is for some people and if there is another way to make helping out that much easier. But without any rejection, he asked me how much it will cost to fix it and will give me his feedback when he sees someone willing to donate to the project.
After a few hours, I received 160 Hive in my wallet to start the project. The fund is donated by @guiltyparties and @Quochuy, and I will continue to thank them for this good deed.
On Wednesday the 27th the engineer came to see if the well could be fixed and give us water. Then we realized that the well still contains water, although it has been a long time, it was defective, and then we took the defective valve from the pump on that same day to get a similar one.
On Thursday the 28th we fixed the valves and the water pump for a few minutes and stopped. Our mindset is just the valve breaking, that's why people stopped fetching when they couldn't afford to fix it, so we have to get the whole cylinder out of the well and know exactly what's wrong, why the water stops pumping.
After all, the cylinder has been noted to rust in the water and leave a mark on the pump area. The engineer was so scared, he asked for additional payment before finding solutions, definitely as the work has started and there is no more going back, I have no choice but to accept.
He later changed the cylinder head and stripped the mark. oh, I remember the mark on the cylinder had already cut through the new rubber so we changed it back and fixed the hole.
Finally, it pumps out the water evenly so far without stopping.
To make this post unique, I will provide some detailed images of the two areas the well is likely to serve.
