Today i will be sharing my experince of "MAINTAINING an APPLE ORCHARD" and OWNING one in SHIMLA (HIMACHAL PRADESH) . It is a very big task as it demands lots of knowledge for this.
In this blog i ll be sharing about "Spraying of APPLE TREE OIL + Insecticide " in one of my ORCHARD. It is one of the biggest Apple Orchard i have. The orchard conatins both young and old trees from age 4-16 years.
I along with my father went to the orchard for spraying oil + insecticide. The orchard is close to my home so it didn't took us lot of time to reach there. As we arrived there , we gathered our all the stuff for the work like:-
1-Drum (200Ltr)
2-Pipe (100m)
3-Pump Machine
4-Apple tree oil (10Ltr)
5- TAFABAN (Insecticide)
The main objective of Spraying "Oil" in the apple trees is that , the oil contains high paraffinic base oil + bio-degradable emulsifier which provides wettability and efficincy to APPLE PLANTS , which control the inscets (Whooly Aphid) , Scab , Rusting dound in the orchard.
First task was to undo the roll of pipe and lay out in the orchard so that it would be easy for us to carry it and no interlocking would be there. The pipe should be taken to the far end of the orchard and connect Nozzle to it.
As i was doing my work , till then my father filled the DRUM with water and started to mix the essentials in it.
After doing this , he started to connect inlet and outlet pipes into the machine and put them in the drum.
You should have one big wood stick to mix the mixture in the drum , you can't use metal as it conatins impurities which can harm your solution.
Now the setup was okay and we both were ready to start the work. Father went to the far end and took the nozzle and till then i turned on the motor of the machine and hence our work started.
The orchard has a step over step , so i had to be there with and see whether everything is okay or not with the pipe . Mainly i had to see if there is any interlocking or not.
It took us about an hour to cover the whole orchard. The most important thing for this SPRAY is that there should be no wind and there was none at our time. So our work was done quite easily with no disruptance.
Now the time was to again assemble the essentials like roll of pipe . I did it as soon as possible . After that i cleaned the machine and put it in the store i have in ORCHARD along with DRUM and all.
As i was busy whole time , i was unable to capture more photos which would show more about the orchard .
More work will be done in the upcoming weeks like grafting , mulching and i will share about these things with you all. I hope you will find it interesting in the upcoming blogs.
