There are many opportunities in the online world. People got jobs and improved their careers through different platforms. And I am not an exception to people who tried their luck diving into the world with the largest audience – which is the internet.
As soon as I realized that the internet is not only about social media and online games, I started using it to build a career. It is the reason why you are reading this introduction article right now. I have been hearing many things about Hive and it took me a while to decide whether to start a journey here or not. And since I am a risk-taker, let me showcase myself here as well.
After days of looking forward to becoming part of the growing community in Hive, I am finally here. I have been reading articles and posts about this platform, and I decided to join here myself. Thank you so much to @jane1289 for an eye-opener article for Hive Beginners.
Honestly, I was hesitant at first since it seemed to be challenging. But I disregarded the what ifs and finally created my account here. I received many suggestions about telling something about yourself, or simply introducing yourself to the platform and to your future readers. Now, let me talk about myself.
I am a college student.
You read it right. I am still a college student. I took a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Financial Management. I am already in my 4th year, and it was a roller-coaster ride. Actually, it was not my first choice before. I am not qualified for the course that I want, so I took my chances on this course.
Right now, I do not feel any regret at all. I learned to love my course and enjoy the perks of studying Financial Management. It made me be responsible for my finances and learn how to control and save money. Also, one of the advantages of taking this course is I can apply my learnings to myself, whether I use them in the corporate world or when I am planning to start a business. Even if it was not my first choice, I am still proud of myself because I only got two semesters to finish and accomplish.
I am a self-proclaimed writer.
During my elementary years, I used to be our school’s representative on the News Writing Competition. I can still remember how my mentors trained me on my writing, especially the flow and how to make the contents understandable. I started competing in Journalism when I was in Grade 2, and I think it is the reason why I ended up as a writer now.
As you can see, I added that it is a self-proclamation since I cannot believe that I continued my journey in writing until now. I know that you will also ask me what the genre of my literary work is.
Academic Writing – I am into academic writing, like essays and poems. Last 2020, I started accepting academic commissions and I got plenty of clients before. I helped them with their school activities and requirements in exchange for cash. But recently, I stopped accepting orders or clients because I cannot manage my time well. You will know why in the next parts.
Feature & News writing –during my elementary years, a teacher trained me on how to make a good news written report. I remember when she told me about the content of the first paragraph or the introduction: the contents should answer the WH questions. I think I can still work with my news writing and apply the lessons I learned from my mentor back then. Also, I experienced making compositions under Feature Writing. But I think I need more improvements in that field, especially in brainstorming topics.
Motivational & Inspirational Write Ups –most writers are into motivational and inspirational write ups, and I am not an exception again. I am writing contents about life experiences and some motivating words of wisdom along with them. Aside from that, sometimes I am sharing inspirational life stories for my readers. I want to convey messages about bravery and positivity. Maybe you are thinking about my readers and where I put all my compositions. Continues scrolling down!
I am a blogger.
I landed and started being a blogger or content creator on a crypto-blogging site called “readcash.” I started my journey in blogging last August 25, 2020. It has been almost two years of journey as a blogger. I met many people and it even opened doors for me, especially in freelancing. It is the platform where I met someone who offered me a deal to be her sub-contractor on an Upwork project.
I am a Freelancer.
I started my journey as a freelancer last January 2021 up until now, but I am still a subcontractor. I accepted tasks for content-creating, data entry, and writing. It was a challenging journey at first, but I am enjoying the work now. Aside from the income I earn, I am also gaining knowledge and experience on this field that I can use someday. I am so thankful for this opportunity and will always be grateful for all the things I learned in this field.
Being here means offering something too. It is not all about the money and earnings I will get from the platform. So, I tried to think and analyze the things I can offer and contribute here. Since I am also working and building my career in terms of blogging, I would love it to be part of my journey here. I am looking forward to publishing unique contents with quality.
Also, I may share some tips and tricks to people who also want to pursue their career in freelancing. I can use this platform to spread good vibes, awareness, ideas, and start interesting discussions on particular issues happening in our society. Let this be the start of my journey as an improved, wiser, and better blogger and content creator.
Hello there, people of Hive. The piece above serves as a glimpse of me. It will be nice to meet you all.
