Dumb And Dumber

I did a post a few months back where Chad mopped up Boko Haram in their neck of the woods with some counter attacks. The Nigerians had to stand fast on their borders and mop up the rest fleeing from no mans land. There were very little news reports after this and everything went quiet. One would have hoped the Nigerien Army had done it's job and Boko haram was a thing of the past.

I noticed tonight Boko Haram is trending on Twitter again all for the wrong reasons. Another attack with many mass killings at a remote village in Northern Nigeria. I sympathies with the losses as this is needless and the people of Nigeria need to start to question what and how a terrorist group can continue to flourish whilst they have a supposedly decent army.

One has to ask serious questions as to what games are being played at the expense of the Nigerian people. There is no other explanation as to why this terrorist group has been active for so long especially when they were on the ropes only a few months ago. Someone high up in the Nigerian Government has to be helping them for possibly financial or political gain. There is no other explanation for this.

I think what is more shocking is they believe that they can capture the Boko Haram terrorists and after a time in jail turn them around. This is called Operation Safe Corridor and was established in 2016 and have had a total of 893 terrorists pass through it's doors. They have released 280 already back into society and are now preparing for another 690. They are not fish that you can just catch and release. This is sending the wrong message and the message is we are going to fight another day.

Where is the logic in this as the violent crimes these members have committed there should never be a second chance. All they are now doing is fueling the lagging Boko Haram numbers as a majority will make their way back into the terrorist organisation. I have never heard of something so stupid in my life as what is a repented terrorist. Someone who will say anything to save his neck and once out will revert straight back to what they were doing.

Firstly how can this be allowed to happen as the people of the country are being murdered in their hundreds. The Army doesn't seem to be in control yet more are being released to fight another day. I would be asking the questions as why are they even taking prisoners in the first place as they are no benefit to society. Could you imagine if 900 ex ISIS soldiers/terrorists were allowed to walk free because they promised to be good from now on. How many terrorist cells would be formed with a group like that?

Nigeria is screwed and until a new President is elected who is strong enough and stands by his people Boko Haram will be around forever at this rate.
