A few years ago I had this condition with my feet where there is a very annoying sensation that bothered me. It felt like I want to kick it all the time and it affected my already troubled sleeping habit because of anemia that caused me some insomnia in the process.
Some of my renal nurses even laughed about it maybe because they do not care or not really knew about that condition. I had done my own research through reading materials and I learned that my condition was called a "Restless Legs Syndrome" or RLS and the treatment was Gabapentin.
I learned about it after I bought a book about medicines. But I haven't asked my nurses to write a prescription for me but instead I fashioned my own prescription paper and printed it through one of the Internet cafes when I trimmed it off with a blade and wrote me a prescription months later when I felt that I can no longer endure the tense debilitation sensation about my legs.
So it just worked and I got healed just like that but I noticed too that it improved my sleep. There was this instance as well where my father heard me snoring which I never did because I am just a light sleeper if I manage to get some sleep.

From that point on I continued to take it but with a relatively very small dosage after my dialysis because its effects lasts long so there is no need for me to take it everyday making my consumption of it very economical for me.
There is also another benefit for me about taking Gabapentin. One is for alleviating some of my body pains. Most of my pains are through nerve pain in my back so because gabapentin works on that kind of particular pain it does make a good ease about that issue of mine.
But still I have to take pain relievers at some point when there are such a flare-up in my body because I still have a lot of weak joints even though i had some improvements over the years.
Gabapentin also is a medicine for Epilepsy and I happen to have that condition too. I had a mild epilepsy ever since I was a child and my mother always brings me to the Neurologist every three months until we decided to stop going because of financial constraints so my mother and I just agreed.

I also had a major seizure about two months in being a dialysis patient because of a high creatinine levels and blood pressure and that exacerbated my epilepsy. My epileptic seizures are only seen EEG readings and not like I am having spasms and all that but in reality I just have to take medicines for it but I also never returned to the Neurologist that prescribed me some medicines for it because again dur to my financial constraints.
Taking Gabapentin also calms down my guts, I no longer get these sensation in my guts which feels like I wanted to go to the toilet every time, it is like an irritable bowel syndrome. That is one of the reason that Gabapentin improves my well-being because of its work for my pain issues, sleep enhancement, for my epilepsy, and a relaxed guts, especially about my RLS which never came back after taking Gabapentin many years ago.
