There were several causes behind the student protests in 1968. But the main things were a reaction on how the universities were organized, and many students thought that the lectures were not relevant, and the quality was low since the students could read themselves, and the organization of the universities was stupid!
The best thing for any human is freedom, and that we have diversity and plurality in the ways we are being humans. And there are changes in the knowledge base from time to time, and often things that are happening in any country are not included into the universities and the business schools. And these things are things we are reacting against when claiming to have relevant and wondering thoughts, feelings and actions. Humans can ever and forever be engaged all the variations that we find in human nature and in nature, and that is a mixture of thoughts, feelings and actions.
The government system is any society can be democracy or that the masses are thinking and reflecting, and that you find the philosophy of being a nation within the bodies to the most intellectual bodies, where the thinking is best. And the opposite system of governing a nation is socialism, where you find the logic and the thinking within a communist party, and hence there is not too much thinking and freedom and diversity about what is going on. And what has been done ever since in a nation is much to think about. But the literature is welcome, and often there are some important thoughts and perspectives to dwell around.
In the USA, the universities also became important support for the opposition against how the war in Vietnam. Hence, there could be better ways to do the wars, and the best brain waves will always react on these things, and there should be freedom and diversity within systems. And sometimes, we can think about whether someone working in business life, has ever learned what the business schools and the universities could learn you in all the manners they really operated within.
The local leaders for the students protests were usually ideological students with good education and with a socialist sight on society. Among their most important role models, we can mention the German-American philosopher Herbert Marcuse and the Chinese party leader Mao Zedong. Herbert Marcusr criticized capitalism, modern technology, Soviet Communism and entertainment culture, arguing that they represent new forms of social control. Ideologically Mao Zedong was a Marxist–Leninist, his theories, military strategies, and political policies are collectively known as Maoism. Several of the students activists was known internationally, and some of them were Rudi Dutschke (1940-1979) and Daniel Cohn-Bendit, born in 1945.
We cannot perceive the same things and the same persons in the same ways, since we have different education and research background from universities and business schools. But organizations that are not active and visible in the societies are a nightmare, and we can ask ourselves about their existence and their philosophy. We should develop societies, and what we are doing should be sensible of moving the societies forward, and the employees should include all the changes that are coming. And there should be sensible rules about which country we can work in, that can be any country. And people can earn as much as they want, and that is the good business philosophy in democracies and the capitalism!
Martin Luther King was shot in 1968, and he had a dream that humans should live with their visions and their inner desires and inner voices all the life. And he want the world to be unified, in such ways that we should know how and why different places, and that there should be rigor and clear logic behind all the rules in the societies, also among the legislators. This is the intelligence level that is revealed among the different people doing different things.
