I’ve been on Hive for a short while, and I must admit, it’s been a learning curve. Not just learning how the platform works, but learning how to be seen, how to grow, how to survive in a space that’s already filled with amazing content creators.
One thing I’ve noticed is that, as a newbie, you don’t just struggle with writing or posting. You also struggle with visibility. You can put your heart into a post and it ends up with no comments, no upvotes, just floating in the Hive sea like it was never written at all.
And sometimes, you just sit there and wonder: Is anyone even seeing this?
Is it my writing? My formatting? My tags? Or am I just not known enough?
I’ve asked myself these questions a lot lately, because I truly enjoy writing. I enjoy sharing my thoughts, especially with a community like OCD that promotes originality. But I must say, it’s hard staying motivated when it feels like nobody notices. I know I’m not alone in this feeling, many newbies must have felt it too.
Still, I refuse to give up. I want to grow here.
So I decided to make this post, not to complain, because I still have someone who always keeps me in the loop of things, thanks for his support, but there are newbies who don't have any direct mentor or someone to guide them, so i am using this opportunity to speak up for every newbie who’s putting in the effort but not getting seen. Some of us don’t have connections, some don’t even understand how all the communities and tokens work yet, but we’re trying. We’re reading, observing, posting, and learning. Day by day.
We just want a chance.
One upvote or a short comment means the world to us. It tells us, “Hey, you’re not invisible. You’re doing okay.” And that encouragement might be the one reason we come back and post again.
So if you’re reading this and you’re an OCD curator or an older Hiver, this is a gentle nudge to notice a few more new names out there. Drop a comment. Give a small upvote. It might look like nothing to you, but to us, it’s huge.
And to my fellow newbies: don’t stop posting. Don’t let the silence kill your vibe. Some of us may not get noticed immediately, but it doesn’t mean we’re not good enough. Just keep learning, keep connecting, and keep showing up. Hive is big, yes, but there’s room for all of us, if we’re patient and persistent.
I’m still figuring things out. I’m still looking for ways to better myself aside from my brothers mentorship, am i even using the right tags correctly, or is my writing style “Hive standard.” But I’m here. I’m trying. And I believe we all deserve a fair shot.
Let’s keep pushing.
