Many of you over the past couple of weeks have been putting up a good fight on the frontlines. Here on Steem, Twitter, and Discords. Heck, some of you went a little overboard and took it into the streets. We all were hoping some kind of reasonable deal would come out of what has been going on over at Steemit Inc. So we all could feel safe and go back to creating content, developing dapps, and running communities among other things.
As you have seen these past few weeks things keep going south by an enemy who only values money and not the community. Delegations pulled from critical communities that fight spam and plagiarism. Our outstanding community members getting called hackers and other defamatory names. Threats of forced coin swamps on an exchange many of our community can’t even use due to country restrictions. Sock puppets taking over our top witness slots. Briberies to the corruptible. Special deals for exchanges and who knows what else. Lies. Oh, so many lies. Now witness slots to those who may or may not want to have a “special relationship” with the tyrant.
I could go on and on but I’ve made my point. Instead of the Steem price skyrocking like it should have and been back to $1 to $1.5 like most of us have enjoyed for so long. We are just scraping by at .13 cents on a good day. Those who want to rule over us can’t even come up with a real plan other than attack us.
Many have been asking “what are we going do?,” “is anyone working on anything?,” “why are we not forking and be done?” While many where off spamming and demanding answers many went silent. It turns out some went silent for good reason. That group of people has programming backgrounds, business experience, and even exchange contacts among many other things. They have been working on a solution. It’s a bit radical but we have been through so much already.
The fact of the matter is our value has always been in the community. We had a company that sat for years with a massive war chest who refused to use it. Could not take advantage of opportunities created by the community like getting listed on exchanges when all they had to do was walk in the touchdown. They failed to promote the ecosystem to the masses while collecting a paycheck. Now they are trying to exit with that war chest to the markets. They have been screaming from the rooftops that ninja mine stake is not for development but themselves by their new owner.
Hive is coming. Hive has a bigger development team than Steemit has had in the past. Hive is filled with experts that want to build without the chains of Steemit Inc holding them back. We can take that value the community has and bring it with us. Away from that tyrant and the hell that is going to follow once he gets full control and dose as he wishes.
No more having Steemit put down their boots and say no. No more them dragging their heels for years on end to produce nothing but thin air while they buy time to sell of a ninja stake to the exchanges that their new owner appears to be in bed with. It’s time for the people to stop getting fucked over.
In the coming days, more information will be released about Hive. So far we have been told our content can come with us. That they will be doing an airdrop to the real humans and not sock puppets.
@Blocktrades and many others are behind this and are building it from our own community. You can read the first post about Hive to learn more.
I'm excited to get back to my adventure of content creation, game development and so much more. I hope you are as well with what you have been building.
